About this hotel
General information
Imperial Hotel, Tokyo is a classic grand hotel in Hibiya, standing on the very site where the first Imperial Hotel was built. It is made up of two buildings: the Main Building, whose windows look out over Hibiya Park, and the high-rise Tower Building with views across Ginza and the city at night. The 14th to 16th floors of the Main Building form the Imperial Floors, a separate level with personal guest attendants and Sleep Works beds.
The hotel is known for a broad dining line-up — French and Japanese cuisine, sushi, grill, a buffet, bars and a tearoom for Japanese sweets. Below ground, the Imperial Hotel Arcade gathers shops, and there are hair and beauty salons, a pool and a gym. One suite recreates design motifs of the hotel’s historic building. Banquet halls host celebrations and weddings.
Location
The hotel sits in Hibiya in Chiyoda, between the business district of Marunouchi and the shops and theatres of Ginza, close to the Imperial Palace. Hibiya metro station is a 3-minute walk, Ginza station 12 minutes, and Tokyo Station about 5 minutes by taxi. Haneda Airport is around 45 minutes by taxi; Narita is about 90 minutes by taxi or about 70 minutes on the Narita Express to a nearby JR station, and the hotel’s own limousine service can be booked in advance.
Spa
There is no spa as such, but the Main Building holds several treatment salons. Esthetic Salon Tamaki offers hands-on facial skincare tailored after a personal consultation, and Namikoshi Shiatsu Salon gives shiatsu in fully private rooms. GRANCLUB Of HAIR covers haircuts, scalp care and traditional shaves with Of Cosmetics products, while MAISON1895 Shibayama Beauty Salon adds kimono dressing to its hair, nail and beauty services.
Sports & leisure
A 24-hour gym with modern equipment on the 8th floor of the Main Building is free for guests, with sportswear and shoes to borrow. The 20th floor of the Tower Building has a pool and saunas, also complimentary for guests. The Imperial Hotel Arcade gathers shops under one roof, and Hibiya Park, Ginza and the Imperial Palace are all close by.
For children
A staffed babysitting room on the 4th floor of the Main Building looks after children from one month to eight years old; it is booked by phone in advance, and the babysitter hands parents a short report at pick-up. Parkside Diner has a children’s menu, and The Imperial Viking Sal buffet includes dishes for children.
Restaurants & bars
The hotel’s restaurants and bars are gathered in the Main Building:
- Les Saisons — fine French cuisine
- Kamon — open-grill dishes on the 17th floor
- The Imperial Viking Sal — buffet on the 17th floor
- Parkside Diner — all-day dining on the ground floor
