About this hotel
General information
Imperial Hotel, Osaka is a classic city hotel on the bank of the Okawa River in the north of Osaka, part of the Osaka Amenity Park complex. Its rooms fill the 7th to 21st floors of a high-rise, and the top three of these, the Imperial Floors, hold the most spacious rooms and suites, with a lounge of their own. Water, greenery, flowers, sunlight and shade are the recurring themes of the interiors, which here and there echo architectural details of the first Imperial Hotel building in Tokyo.
Most of the restaurants sit on the 23rd and 24th floors, looking out over the city and the river, and cover French, Chinese and Japanese cooking, sushi and teppanyaki. Lower down are a lobby lounge in a 24-metre atrium, a bar and an all-day restaurant, while the basement holds The Imperial Hotel Plaza shopping arcade and the hotel shop. A large fitness club with a pool, baths and tennis courts occupies the neighbouring building, and separate halls host banquets and weddings.
Location
The hotel stands in Kita ward on the bank of the Okawa, near Kema Sakuranomiya Park, where some 4,000 cherry trees blossom in spring; Osaka Castle, Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and the Tenjinbashisuji shopping street are close by. Sakuranomiya Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line is about 5 minutes on foot, and Ogimachi and Osaka Tenmangu subway stations about 10 minutes. A free hotel shuttle bus reaches Osaka Station in around 15 minutes. From Kansai International Airport it is about an hour by taxi, roughly 100 minutes by Airport Limousine bus, which stops at the hotel, or 47 minutes on the Haruka express to Osaka Station; Itami Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi and Kobe Airport about an hour.
Spa
There is no spa as such, but massage can be booked in the room. The fitness club in the neighbouring building has bathing areas with saunas and a relaxation room, open to guests aged 18 and over for a fee.
Sports & leisure
The 4,400 m² fitness club fills a separate building linked to the hotel by a fifth-floor passage, with a gym, a golf practice area, a pool, baths and saunas, a relaxation room and tennis courts, plus private lessons with instructors. Guests aged 18 and over can use it for a fee, with sportswear and shoes provided. The concierge books ways into the city: a tea ceremony, mochi making, cooking classes, craft workshops for chopsticks, knives or temari balls, an Aqua Liner river cruise past Osaka Castle and Nakanoshima, and guided bicycle tours.
Restaurants & bars
Six hotel-run venues — restaurants, a lobby lounge and a bar — sit alongside two outposts of well-known Japanese restaurant names; most have private rooms, and in-room dining runs from morning until 9:30 p.m.
- Les Saisons — French haute cuisine on the 23rd floor: a seasonal menu pairing classical recipes with current technique, a deep wine list and night-time views over the city
- Kamon — teppanyaki on the 24th floor, with Japanese beef shipped straight from the ranch, fresh seafood and vegetables cooked in front of guests, and a broad choice of sake
- Jasmine Garden — Cantonese cooking centred on seafood on the 23rd floor, served in a Western-style room with Western-style service; lobster cooked to order and mango pudding are its pride
- Osaka Nadaman — modern Japanese cuisine with elaborate presentation on the 24th floor, eight private rooms and a Japanese breakfast
- Kyubey — Tokyo-style Edomae sushi made with the freshest seasonal ingredients on the 24th floor
- Café Couvert — all-day dining in a modern, relaxed setting on the second floor, from a buffet or Western breakfast through lunch and tea time to dinner
- The Park — a lobby lounge in a sunlit 24-metre atrium with water-themed art, serving desserts, drinks and afternoon tea to the sound of pipe-organ concerts and live music
- Old Imperial Bar — the hotel’s main bar on the second floor, classic yet unhurried, with architectural motifs from the original Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and photographs of silent-film stars

The pool is in the fitness club in the neighbouring building, next to the baths and saunas; guests aged 18 and over can use it for a fee.
