About this hotel
General information
Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo fills the 40th to 45th floors of the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu tower beside Tokyo Station. It is an intimate hotel of 98 rooms and suites in which the Roman jeweller's Italian style meets Japanese craft: interior textiles come from Hosoo, a Kyoto kimono weaver, and the wooden furniture from Ritzwell of Fukuoka.
The details are deliberate. The hotel's emblem is drawn from a Bvlgari brooch showing Mount Fuji, the driveway is laid with Roman sampietrini cobbles, and the brand's eight-pointed star marks the 40th-floor vestibule. Up top are an Italian restaurant, an eight-seat sushi counter, a fireside lounge and a 45th-floor bar with terraces, while the spa's 25-metre pool looks out over the city. Staff will pack and unpack for guests, and a barber, a tailor or a Maison Berluti shoeshine can be arranged.
Location
The hotel stands in Yaesu in central Tokyo, right by Tokyo Station, within walking distance of the Imperial Palace and its gardens, the business districts of Nihonbashi and Marunouchi, and the shops of Ginza; the upper floors look across the palace gardens towards Mount Fuji. From Narita Airport the Narita Express reaches Tokyo Station in 53 minutes, or a taxi takes around 100 minutes; from Haneda Airport it is about 40 minutes by taxi.
Spa
The Bvlgari Spa covers 1,800 m² on the 40th floor, with nine treatment rooms, including two doubles and a Spa Suite with a hydro-massage tub clad in green Iranian onyx and treatment beds for two. The men's and women's changing rooms have hot baths and Japanese showers. Treatments and grooming for men and women draw on the philosophy and products of Augustinus Bader; the spa welcomes guests aged 16 and over.
Sports & leisure
Bvlgari Gymnasivm, developed with Technogym, is open around the clock: training begins with a digital fitness assessment that shapes a personal programme guests can follow on their own devices, and on-demand workouts can be streamed in the room. The concierge arranges ways into the city:
- artisan workshops — kintsugi, sword-making and woodblock printing in the ukiyo-e tradition;
- a contemporary art tour of Tokyo galleries led by a curator or gallerist;
- a private visit to Toyosu Market, with the tuna auction and a sushi-making lesson;
- personal shopping in a long-established Japanese department store, with private fitting rooms and tax-free assistance;
- cultural itineraries of 4, 6 or 8 hours with a private guide;
- golf at private Japanese courses with a guide, club rental and caddie.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants and bars sit on the 40th and 45th floors, and in-room dining runs around the clock.
- Il Ristorante - Niko Romito — contemporary Italian cooking and classics such as antipasto all'italiana and cotoletta alla milanese under a curved wooden ceiling, 62 seats inside and 34 on the terrace; breakfast, lunch and dinner, ages 12 and over;
- Sushi Hōseki — eight-seat omakase at a hinoki-wood counter looking onto a small zen garden, with some twenty sakes; ages 12 and over;
- The Bvlgari Bar — 45th-floor bar set between two roof terraces and styled as an Italian garden pavilion: classic Italian cocktails, simple dishes through the day and an aperitivo with bar bites;
- The Bvlgari Lounge — fireside lounge with a cast-iron and granite hearth, wood-panelled walls and access to the terrace, for light meals, afternoon tea and Italian pastries;
- Bvlgari Dolci — boutique for Il Cioccolato chocolates, Italian pastries, jams and nectars.
Swimming
The spa holds a 25-metre indoor pool lined with emerald-green mosaic, with floor-to-ceiling windows onto the Tokyo skyline, and beside it a vitality pool whose fan-shaped mosaic recalls the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. The pools are open daily from 7am to 10pm.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at the hotel.
