Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills

About this hotel

General information

Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills occupies the upper floors of Toranomon Hills Mori Tower in the Toranomon district, between the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Tower. It is a city hotel with a relaxed, unstuffy manner: interiors draw on Japanese aesthetics, natural materials and local art, and the public spaces show works made with kumiko latticework and other Japanese crafts.

The 164 rooms, eight of them suites, all look out over Tokyo — towards Tokyo Tower, the Imperial Palace or Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge. The Andaz Lounge is open to every guest, with soft drinks and snacks around the clock and wine and canapés in the evening. Studios on the 51st and 52nd floors host meetings and weddings.

Location

The hotel stands in Minato ward in central Tokyo, linked by underground passages to Toranomon Hills station on the Hibiya Line and Toranomon station on the Ginza Line. Tokyo Tower is about 1 km away, Ginza 1.4 km, Roppongi 1.7 km and the Imperial Palace 1.8 km. From Haneda Airport the journey takes around 40 minutes by train with a change or a final taxi leg; from Narita Airport it is around 90 minutes on the Narita Express to Tokyo Station and then by taxi.

Spa

AO Spa & Club covers 1,350 m² on the 37th floor. Treatments are shaped after a personal consultation, combining seasonal ingredients from the Blend Bar with three skincare lines: kotoshina, an organic range from Kyoto built on Uji tea, the French Biologique Recherche and the English plant-based elemental herbology. The menu includes the Signature Spa Journey, a facial paired with a full-body massage, and a seasonal ritual. There are four private treatment suites and a couple's suite with a bathtub. The changing areas have hot baths, with a cold bath and dry sauna for men and a steam room and 360-degree experience showers for women, plus a relaxation lounge with massage chairs. Treatments are for guests aged 13 and over.

Sports & leisure

The AO Spa & Club gym, fitted with Technogym cardio and strength equipment, looks out over the Imperial Palace and is open around the clock, free of charge, to hotel guests. Instructors offer personal workouts, and twice a week on weekdays there are free small-group sessions for staying guests; sportswear, shoes, swim caps and goggles are provided on site.

Restaurants & bars

Five venues, from a grill on the 51st floor to a pastry shop at street level:

  • The Tavern – Grill & Lounge — the main restaurant on the 51st floor, cooking from the European classics with seasonal produce from Japanese growers, and known for its highballs
  • Rooftop Bar — 52nd-floor bar with a semi open-air terrace facing Tokyo Bay and Odaiba, pouring cocktails built on premium teas and seasonal fruit; for guests aged 20 and over
  • the SUSHI — an eight-seat counter behind the Rooftop Bar serving an Edo-mae sushi omakase dinner prepared in front of guests, with the hotel's own '52' sake
  • BeBu — American comfort food on the ground floor: burgers, Cajun chicken wings and classic desserts
  • Pastry Shop — a marble-countered patisserie at street level with cakes and sweets made from seasonal and local ingredients

In-room dining covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with wines chosen by the hotel's sommelier.

Swimming

On the 37th floor, AO Spa & Club has a 20-metre indoor pool of Japanese stone, 1.3 m deep, along with a carbonated pool, a pool with jets rising from the floor and a jet bath. The pool is free for hotel guests; children may swim from the age of 4 with an adult.

Pets

Guests with pets are welcome at the outdoor terrace tables of BeBu.
