About this hotel
General information
Opened in 2015, Aman Tokyo occupies the upper floors of the Otemachi Tower, beside the Imperial Palace and a short ride from the shops of Ginza. The interiors are open and almost without partitions, built from camphor wood, natural stone and washi paper shoji screens, with deep Japanese ofuro tubs in the bathrooms – a quiet, distinctly Japanese sensibility.
Within the hotel are a garden framed by an engawa gallery, restaurants looking out over Tokyo and the palace gardens, a bar and a wine cellar with a broad collection of wines and sake, and a spa with a large pool beneath panoramic windows. A business centre, meeting room and banqueting rooms with city views cater for events, and weddings and honeymoon programmes can be arranged. Aman Tokyo pairs the energy of a modern capital with the stillness of old Japan.
Location
The hotel stands in Otemachi, Tokyo’s financial district, in the Otemachi Tower, which connects directly to Otemachi metro station and its five lines; Tokyo Station is close by. Haneda Airport is about 40 minutes away by car and Narita about an hour.
Spa
Aman Spa spans 2,500 m² over two floors. Each of its eight treatment rooms has a dressing area, bathroom, steam shower and relaxation space, and the wet area adds a 30-metre heated indoor pool with city views, onsen-style Japanese baths and steam rooms. Signature rituals centre on purification, among them Misogi, a water ritual rooted in Shinto tradition, and treatments use Aman’s own skincare.
Sports & leisure
A 24-hour gym with Technogym and Life Fitness equipment, a yoga and Pilates studio with reformers, and the 30-metre indoor pool in the spa; the hotel also arranges excursions and activities.
Restaurants & bars
Most venues look out over the city from the upper floors, while the café sits at the foot of the tower:
- Arva – southern Italian cooking built on seasonal ingredients, with a panorama of Tokyo
- Musashi by Aman – Edomae-style omakase sushi at a hinoki cypress counter
- The Lounge by Aman – all-day dining, signature cocktails and seasonal afternoon teas against the city panorama
- The Café by Aman – teas, Champagne and handmade sweets among the trees of the Otemachi Forest
- La Pâtisserie by Aman Tokyo – breads, pastries and cakes on the tower’s B2 level
In-room dining is available.
