Villa TreVille

About this hotel

General information

Villa TreVille is a boutique hotel in Positano made up of four separate villas — Villa Bianca, Villa Rosa, Villa Azzurra and Villa Tre Pini — linked by paths and old stone stairways that wind across a rocky, heavily planted hillside. The interiors show off local craftsmanship, from antique ceramic tiles kept in their original state to pieces by present-day artisans.

The writer Mikhail Semenov bought the property in the 1920s and gave it its creative spirit. In the 1960s it passed to the director Franco Zeffirelli, under whom it became a retreat for intellectuals and bohemians, among them world-famous dancers, musicians, painters and actors. Many of the suites are named after those guests, and an aristocratic way of life is still kept up today.

Location

The hotel is in the centre of Positano on the Amalfi Coast, 50 km from Naples.

Spa

The wellness centre offers a range of massages and face and body treatments.

Sports & leisure

An open-air gym looks out to sea. Daily boat trips set out aboard the wooden vessel San Ferdinando, and Naples, Pompeii, Capri and other towns of the region are within easy reach.

For children

Babysitting is available.

Restaurants & bars

A restaurant and two lounges are spread across the villas.

  • La Pergola — meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian dishes from fresh organic produce with fine wines; a terrace over the bay of Positano in spring and summer, a fireside salon in autumn and winter
  • Club Lounge — a terrace on Villa Azzurra serving snacks, drinks and delicacies from an open kitchen throughout the day
  • Salone Bianco — a quiet bar on Villa Bianca for drinks and cocktails
Swimming

The hotel has an outdoor pool and a private beach.
