General information
Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort spreads across 120 hectares of gardens, lawns and Maremma hills. The ancient town of Saturnia crowns one of those hills, and thermal springs rise at its foot. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the hotel occupies a historic travertine building erected in 1919 around a natural thermal pool.
The hot, sulphur- and mineral-rich water and the spring’s mud underpin the spa’s programmes, with five outdoor thermal pools, natural waterfalls and a Spa & Beauty clinic; they are used for cardiovascular, skin, digestive, respiratory and musculoskeletal conditions as well as in beauty care. Guests also have an 18-hole golf course, Tuscan cuisine, three conference rooms for 90–250 people, a helipad and parking with Tesla chargers. Weddings and honeymoon programmes are arranged.
Location
The resort sits beside the thermal springs near the town of Saturnia in the Maremma, southern Tuscany. Rome and Siena are each about 1 hour 50 minutes away by car, Florence 2 hours 45 minutes.
Spa
The spa brings together outdoor thermal pools, hydromassage baths, natural cascades, a Kneipp path, a Finnish sauna, a mud-therapy area and the Il Casale pavilion with its sensory rooms — the Hayloft, the Cocoon and a fireside lounge — alongside a bistro, spa boutique and indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. The Spa & Beauty clinic has 53 treatment rooms for massage, mud therapy, hydrotherapy, inhalations, physiotherapy, naturopathy and wellness and beauty programmes built on Saturnia’s water and mud.
Sports & leisure
Five outdoor thermal pools at 37.5 °C, two of them octagonal, come with hydromassage baths, natural waterfalls and cardiovascular hydrotherapy paths. The year-round 18-hole golf course covers 70 hectares, and there is a Technogym-equipped fitness centre, a floodlit tennis court and jogging trails. Yoga, cycling and walking routes, cookery classes, entertainment and excursions are offered, with mountain bikes and golf and tennis equipment for hire.
For children
Children have two thermal pools of their own.
Restaurants & bars
Dining centres on Tuscan produce and wine:
- 1919 — Tuscan cuisine overlooking the thermal pool, with an extensive Italian wine list
- La Stellata — trattoria with views of the Tuscan hills and regional dishes from farm produce
- Il Bar — a terrace above the thermal pool, a library lounge, wine, cocktails and evening jazz
- Bistro — light meals and refreshing drinks on a terrace by the springs

The hotel has 124 rooms and suites in a refined classic style, with turquoise accents and natural materials. Windows and balconies look out over the thermal springs, the gardens and the Tuscan hills.
