About this hotel
General information
Six Senses Rome opened in 2023 in the 18th-century Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, built on the site of a cardinal’s residence beside the ancient church of San Marcello al Corso. The building is a landmark in its own right, with a monumental marble staircase, columns some 600 years old at the entrance and a 4th-century baptismal font visible through the glass floor of the Bivium restaurant.
That history is matched with contemporary design: rooms look onto Roman streets or a lush courtyard garden, a restaurant on a planted roof terrace overlooks the city, and the spa has its own Roman baths and Alchemy Bar. There is also the Earth Lab, an organic garden, an open-air events terrace, business services, a concierge, laundry and parking.
Location
The hotel stands on the small Piazza San Marcello at the start of Via del Corso, in Rome’s historic centre, close to the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and Via Condotti. Termini station is 15 minutes by car, Ciampino airport about 40 minutes and Fiumicino international airport about 45 minutes.
Spa
The Six Senses Spa is built around Roman baths with a caldarium, tepidarium and frigidarium, alongside a hammam, sauna, steam room, solarium, a biohacking room, a nail studio, a spa boutique, a relaxation area and five treatment rooms, one a couples’ suite. Face and body treatments combine innovative techniques with premium natural products, and the Alchemy Bar runs workshops on making plant-based spa remedies.
Sports & leisure
A gym with modern equipment and a yoga and meditation studio. Guests can join mixology classes, Alchemy Bar workshops and Earth Lab sessions, as well as excursions.
Restaurants & bars
Both restaurants cook with carefully sourced seasonal produce, and room service is available.
- Bivium — restaurant, café and bar with a dining room and courtyard garden, serving refined and traditional Italian dishes, farmhouse cheeses, coffee, home-made gelato and signature cocktails
- Noto — restaurant and bar in a rooftop garden with panoramic views over Rome
Pets
The spa offers dedicated grooming treatments for dogs.
