General information
Regina Isabella was founded in the 1950s by Angelo Rizzoli, the celebrated publisher and film producer, in the charming village of Lacco Ameno on Ischia. It occupies a quiet cove framed by rocky outcrops, private beaches and Mediterranean pines, while its front entrance opens onto the lively Piazza Santa Restituta, with its church and boutiques.
The interiors are unmistakably Neapolitan — soft curving lines, carefully chosen furniture and detail, and rooms each decorated in their own way. Some halls and rooms are hand-painted, and the collection takes in antiques in the spirit of Naples’ great patrician villas, Murano glass lamps and canvases by Salvador Dalí. The hotel has a thermal spa, four pools, a sandy beach, restaurants and bars, a fitness centre, conference rooms, a boutique and a concierge, and it arranges weddings and honeymoon programmes.
Location
The hotel is in the resort village of Lacco Ameno on Ischia, about 1.5 hours from Naples airport by car and then ferry.
Spa
The thermal spa builds its wellness programmes around thermal water and healing muds, alongside a wide range of face and body treatments and massage techniques.
Sports & leisure
There are four pools, a modern gym and a tennis court, and the hotel offers a varied programme of excursions.
