General information
Palace Hotel Villa Cortine stands in Sirmione on the shore of Lake Garda, within a 4-hectare park. The neoclassical villa, modelled on the palaces of Roman patricians, was built in 1870 for the German philanthropist and connoisseur of Italian art Kurt von Koseritz, and later belonged to the Galetti, an aristocratic Florentine family. In the second half of the 20th century new owners turned it into a hotel, restoring its original splendour and adding new wings to the main building.
Koseritz’s wish to recreate the grandeur of classical Italian palaces is still evident: the halls are finished in Verona marble, antique columns, frescoes and mosaics. The park holds Roman ruins and sculptures, and its crowning glory is a series of fountains with sculptural groups on mythological themes. The hotel has an outdoor pool, a tennis court, a private beach, restaurants and bars, and five meeting rooms for up to 190 guests; cars and boats can be hired.

The hotel sits on the shore of Lake Garda near the spa town of Sirmione, 180 km from Milan Malpensa Airport and 160 km from Venice International Airport.
