General information
Il Salviatino occupies a fifteenth-century villa once owned by the aristocratic Salviati family. It crowns a hill in Fiesole, surrounded by five hectares of Italian gardens and looking out over Florence and the Tuscan hills. The hotel opened in spring 2010 and is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
The house wears its history with ease: antique furniture, old frescoes and paintings, fine textiles and original works of art run through the rooms and salons. A two-level heated pool sits in the garden, the spa works with seasonal Tuscan ingredients, and the kitchen draws on the hotel’s own organic vegetable garden. There is also a library, indoor and outdoor event spaces, wedding arrangements, a shuttle into central Florence, parking, concierge and laundry service.
Location
The hotel sits on a hillside in Fiesole, 8 km (about 10 minutes by car) from the centre of Florence, 15 minutes from Santa Maria Novella station and 10 km (around 25 minutes) from Amerigo Vespucci International Airport.

Sports & leisure
A heated two-level outdoor pool in the garden looks towards the Tuscan hills. The hotel arranges excursions and wine tours, bicycle and scooter rides, and hot-air balloon flights.
Restaurants & bars
Tuscan cooking built on produce from the hotel’s organic vegetable garden is served in elegant dining rooms, on terraces overlooking Florence and out in the garden. A snug bar pours aperitifs, cocktails and wine, and in-room dining is available.

Each of the 40 rooms and suites is individually decorated in the manner of an aristocratic Florentine home, with leather-upholstered antiques, hand-made Tuscan linens, local craftsmanship and original art. Windows and balconies look out over flowering gardens, Florence and the Tuscan countryside.

A suite dedicated to Salvador Dalí, who stayed at the villa, with bold design and vivid colour: a king-size bedroom and an open-plan bathroom with a freestanding tub, a historic marble font used as a basin and a large walk-in shower.
Presidential Suite
A suite on the villa's piano nobile with soaring ceilings, a marble fireplace and original oil paintings by a Flemish master; a king-size bedroom, chromotherapy and views over the Tuscan countryside.
Ojetti Suite
A two-level suite at the top of the villa’s tower with historic interiors, a king-size bedroom, living room, bathroom and a balcony with a hot tub and panoramic views of Florence and the Tuscan hills.
