General information
Il Borro is a historic 700-hectare estate of vineyards, olive groves and rolling Tuscan countryside. Its story reaches back more than a thousand years: an Etruscan settlement, then a lookout on the Roman Via Cassia, later the property of the Mascagni, Borro, Medici and Savoy families. In 1993 it was bought by Ferruccio Ferragamo, president of Salvatore Ferragamo, who turned it into a hotel.
The medieval Tuscan village keeps its character while housing suites and villas with pools, Tuscan cooking, a wine cellar, a spa and plenty to do outdoors. There is an art gallery with a private collection of paintings from several eras, an Il Borro wine and food shop, butler and concierge service and a limousine service. Weddings and honeymoon programmes are arranged.
Location
The estate lies 5 minutes by car from the small town of San Giustino Valdarno and 20 minutes from Arezzo. Florence International Airport is 50 km away.
Spa
Il Borro Spa sits at the very heart of the estate, with a Jacuzzi, hammam, gym and treatment rooms. Facial and body programmes include the signature Di Vino treatments using young wine and grape seeds, alongside Kabebo Cosmetics, Pevonia and Mesoestetic products.
Sports & leisure
A large outdoor pool looks across to the medieval village. There is a fitness centre with instructor-led sessions, a tennis court and a golf practice area. Yoga, walks and bike rides, horse riding, quad biking, archery, wine tastings, food and wine trails, cookery classes, truffle hunts and excursions are all offered.
For children
Sports and entertainment are organised for children, and babysitting is available on request.

Dining is built on Tuscan produce and the estate’s own wines:
- Osteria del Borro — Tuscan cuisine from carefully sourced local produce
- Tuscan Bistro — breakfast and lunch, a wine bar stocking the estate’s wines with a tasting corner, and the Il Borro food shop
- Vin Cafè — light meals and wine with views over the estate
- Historic wine cellar — Tuscan wines, Chianti among them, and the estate’s own labels

Around 60 suites and rooms are spread across the medieval village and Aie del Borro, alongside three villas and farmhouse apartments at I Borrigiani. Interiors recreate the feel of an old Tuscan home, and windows open onto the estate and the Tuscan landscape.

Villa Casetta
A villa among Merlot vineyards 3.5 km from the village: four bedrooms (one in the pool house), four bathrooms with bath and shower, a living room with fireplace, kitchen, dining room and infinity pool; sleeps up to eight.
Villa Mulino
A former watermill in oak woodland 2 km from the village: a main villa with three bedrooms and an annexe with two, kitchens, a living room with fireplace and an infinity pool with sun deck; sleeps up to ten.
Poggio Piano
A two-storey Tuscan farmhouse in parkland 2 km from the village, divided into four apartments (two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, full kitchen), with a garden, outdoor pool, barbecue area and children’s playground.
Capanna
A two-storey Tuscan farmhouse 2 km from the village with two bedrooms, bathrooms, a living room, full kitchen and a garden with outdoor pool and barbecue.
Casa Al Piano
