Hotel Eden

About this hotel

General information

Eden welcomed its first guests in October 1889. It stands in the centre of Rome between Via Veneto and the Spanish Steps, screened from the bustle by the Borghese gardens. The original owner, Francesco Nistelweck, furnished the interiors himself with exacting attention to detail, and the hotel has since hosted aristocrats, royalty, actors and politicians.

Its pride is La Terrazza, a Michelin-starred restaurant that draws Rome’s gourmets for the cooking and for a celebrated view of the Eternal City — one Federico Fellini liked so much that he gave his interviews here. There is also a modern gym, a conference centre with two rooms for 12–80 guests, laundry and dry cleaning, car hire, and a garage and parking close by.

Location

The hotel is in central Rome, near Via Veneto and Piazza di Spagna. Barberini metro station is 0.5 km away, Roma Termini station 2 km and Fiumicino international airport 30 km.

Spa

A small spa area with a hot tub, and massage therapists on request.

Sports & leisure

The hotel has a modern gym. The gardens of Villa Borghese begin 200 m away, ideal for a morning run, and an equestrian centre, a swimming pool, a golf course and tennis courts are about 1 km away.

For children

Babysitting is available on request.

Restaurants & bars

All three venues open onto the city, with the sixth floor as the main address.

  • La Terrazza — Michelin-starred restaurant with views across Rome; the menu is fully renewed twice a year and, beyond à la carte, includes four-course tasting menus, a macrobiotic menu and a Roman menu, with more than 300 wines and a matched wine for every dessert
  • La Terrazza dell’Eden — cocktail bar beside the restaurant, as popular with Romans as with hotel guests
  • Il Giardino dell’Eden — relaxed Mediterranean dining with panoramic views
