General information
Cala di Volpe opened in 1963 on the Costa Smeralda, the Emerald Coast of north-east Sardinia, and has drawn celebrities and royalty ever since. Architect Jacques Couëlle conceived it as a Mediterranean fishing village: separate cottage-style buildings sit in the shade of eucalyptus trees and settle naturally into the landscape. Public spaces are finished in natural materials, while the rooms are dressed in a light, fresh take on traditional Sardinian style.
There are 121 rooms, restaurants, a wine cellar and bars serving local and Mediterranean food, a beauty centre, a fitness centre, tennis courts and a seawater pool. Nine banqueting and meeting rooms hold up to 240 guests, and there is a jewellery boutique, a concierge, transfers, a shuttle and limousine service. Weddings and honeymoon programmes are arranged. Elegant dress is expected at the Cala di Volpe restaurant; elsewhere the style is casual.
Location
The hotel overlooks the bay of Cala di Volpe on the Costa Smeralda in north-east Sardinia, 33 km from Olbia Costa Smeralda airport and 10 km from Porto Cervo.
Spa
The Cala di Volpe Beauty Center has several treatment rooms offering massages including shiatsu, masks, scrubs, hair care, manicures and pedicures, all using natural ingredients such as aromatic oils and sea salt. Light meals and drinks are brought over from the bar. The fitness centre has a sauna, Pilates classes and personal trainers.
Sports & leisure
The outdoor seawater pool, one of the largest in Europe, is ringed by a sun terrace. The grounds have three floodlit artificial-grass tennis courts; the 18-hole Pevero Golf Club is 2 km away and the five-court Cervo Tennis Club 8 km. The Luxury Collection Concierge provides mountain bikes and can organise a football match. At the beach there is kayaking, waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkelling and diving with instructors, and sports equipment, bikes and motor yachts can be hired for trips to the La Maddalena archipelago, 19 km away.
For children
Rooms are equipped for families, with cots and high chairs. A children’s pool opens in high season, and babysitting is available on request.

Swimming
The hotel has its own equipped sandy beach with showers, 15 minutes away and served by a shuttle.

The 121 rooms are furnished in Sardinian style with made-to-order furniture and Cerasarda ceramics. Every room has a terrace facing the sea or the garden.
