General information
Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort lies in the heart of Tuscany, in the spa town of Monsummano Terme, a few kilometres from Florence, Pisa and Lucca. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it occupies a 19th-century villa among century-old trees, where frescoed salons, original furniture and period paintings preserve the house’s historic atmosphere.
The draw is the thermal water and the natural Grotta Giusti cave with its healing vapours, around which the spa and a large thermal pool are built. The surrounding hills suit walks and trips to Tuscany’s quieter historic towns. For business, two equipped rooms, the Domenico Giusti Room and the Napoleone Melani Room, hold up to 100 people in total.
Location
The hotel is in Monsummano Terme, a few kilometres from Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci International Airport is 40 km away and Pisa’s Galileo Galilei Airport 55 km.
Spa
The spa brings together a traditional medicine unit offering mud and inhalation therapies and massages, an Eastern medicine unit, an aesthetic medicine centre, facials and body treatments, and many relaxation rooms. At its heart are the ancient natural Grotta Giusti cave, filled with thermal vapour, and a 750 m² outdoor thermal pool with hydromassage and a waterfall. The resort’s medical team has devised a Longevity programme combining medical check-ups and monitoring, a tailored diet, exercise and spa treatments.
Sports & leisure
There is a gym and fitness centre with instructor-led Pilates and qigong, while the park holds tennis courts and a “path of life” with walking and trekking routes. The location suits golfers, and divers can explore the thermal lake inside the cave. Florence, Lucca, Siena and Pisa are within easy reach, as are the small historic towns of Montalbano, Montecatini Alto and Monsummano Alto.

The hotel has 64 rooms: Classic, Classic Park View (some with a balcony) and Deluxe Park View rooms, the Grand Deluxe with Terrace, two kinds of Junior Suite and the Giusti Suite. Several categories can be booked with either a double or two single beds.
