Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni

About this hotel

General information

Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni opened in 1873 in a neoclassical building right on the shore of Lake Como, in the centre of Bellagio. Its guest book runs from the Rothschilds, Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy to Mary Pickford, Clark Gable and Al Pacino.

Interiors that blend Empire, neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles still hold the air of an aristocratic villa, with stucco and frescoed ceilings, Murano chandeliers and antique furniture. Guests have a 1,500 m² spa, outdoor and indoor pools, a private beach and jetty, two restaurants and several bars, as well as banqueting and conference rooms for 70–300 people, and the hotel arranges weddings.

Location

On the shore of Lake Como in the centre of Bellagio, 30 km from the town of Como and 70 km from Milan and Malpensa Airport.

Spa

Spa Luce del Lago covers 1,500 m², with a heated indoor pool with three hydromassage zones, an Etruscan-style hammam, Vichy showers, a beauty salon, a relaxation area and treatment rooms, including a spa suite with sauna and hot tub. Treatments range from Polynesian Maori massage to rituals using natural products from the Italian brand MEI.

Sports & leisure

An outdoor pool facing the lake and a heated indoor pool are joined by a Technogym-equipped gym, a tennis court and a squash court. The hotel also offers water sports, cycling, boat trips on the lake and excursions.

For children

Children have their own heated indoor pool, and babysitting is available on request.

Restaurants & bars

Two restaurants and three bars share the lakefront.

  • Mistral — fine dining with a lake-view terrace: Mediterranean and Italian cooking from seasonal produce, a cellar of more than 400 labels from around the world and live music in the evenings
  • La Goletta — terrace restaurant above the pool and lake, serving traditional Lombard and Mediterranean dishes
  • Verri’s — a bar in the spirit of nineteenth-century American bars, with signature cocktails, a broad wine list and live music at night
  • Darsena Terrace — terrace bar over the lake for light bites and drinks
  • Pool and beach bar — snacks, cocktails and ice cream

In-room dining is available.

Swimming

The hotel has its own private bathing platform on the lake.
