General information
Grand Hotel Bristol occupies a former noble estate in Stresa, a small Piedmontese town on the shore of Lake Maggiore. A careful restoration kept the building’s elegance while adding contemporary comforts, and the Zacchera family, who own the hotel, bring a long tradition of attentive, wide-ranging service.
The garden holds an outdoor pool, while the wellness centre has an indoor pool and hydromassage; there is a restaurant and a choice of bars. The hotel is also one of Stresa’s main conference venues, with fourteen rooms, many with natural light, seating from 10 to 250 people. For weddings there are elegant banqueting rooms and a dedicated planner who looks after menus, seating plans, music, children’s entertainment and guest transfers.
Location
The hotel stands on the shore of Lake Maggiore in Stresa, Piedmont, 52 km from Milan Malpensa airport.
Spa
The spa, with its indoor pool, offers face and body treatments along with a sauna and hydromassage.
Sports & leisure
The hotel has a well-equipped gym. Seven golf courses and riding stables lie nearby, and the lake offers windsurfing, sailing, rowing and waterskiing. An excursion programme introduces guests to the history and culture of the region.

Restaurants & bars
The hotel has one restaurant and two bars:
- Tre Isole — local, Italian and international dishes, with a cellar of Italian and imported vintage wines
- Lounge Bar — an English-style bar in the winter garden, open all year, with a grand piano
- Pool Bar — open in summer beside the outdoor pool in the garden, for aperitifs, cool drinks, coffee and light bites with a view of the lake
Swimming
Guests can swim in the outdoor pool in the garden or the indoor pool in the spa.
Rooms
Rooms are furnished in the spirit of the original aristocratic residence, with boiserie panelling and rich upholstery, balancing charm and practicality. Some have a balcony facing the lake or the mountains, and the suites look out over Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands.
Each room has wireless internet, a TV, a telephone, air conditioning, a minibar, a safe and toiletries.
