Galleria Vik Milano opened in June 2009 inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan’s celebrated shopping arcade. Historic architecture meets contemporary art here: every room has its own character and is hung with work by Italian and international artists, and the hotel runs its own contemporary art gallery.
Two restaurants complete the picture, among them the historic I Dodici Gatti pizzeria with a terrace and city views. Set at the heart of the arcade, a few steps from the Duomo and La Scala, the hotel makes an easy base for exploring Milan. Guests have business services, free Wi-Fi, a concierge and laundry.
Location
The hotel is inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a few steps from the Duomo and La Scala and a ten-minute walk from the boutiques of Via Montenapoleone. Milano Centrale station is 3 km away, Linate airport 7 km and Malpensa international airport 50 km.
Restaurants & bars
I Dodici Gatti, “the twelve cats”, is a small, stylish pizzeria with an open terrace looking across the arcade’s vaults and the city; the name recalls a dozen feral cats that once lived in the Galleria. Neapolitan-style pizza comes from a wood-fired oven, alongside grilled meats, pasta and a good wine list. VIK Pellico Otto, with Venetian stucco and an art collection, serves a seasonal menu and an extensive wine list. In-room dining is available.
Rooms
The 89 Guest Rooms and Suites are individually designed with stucco, frescoes, contemporary art, antiques and bespoke designer furniture, and their windows and terraces look onto the Galleria and the city.
Rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, telephone, free Wi-Fi, safe, minibar and coffee machine, plus a tub or shower, hairdryer, toiletries, bathrobes and slippers in the bathroom.
