Forte Village Resort - Le Dune

About this hotel

General information

Le Dune is one of the most secluded hotels within Forte Village, set a few steps from the sea in a vast tropical park of tall palms, oleander, bougainvillea, flowerbeds and manicured lawns. Its low buildings are open to the salt air, and every room has its own inner courtyard garden.

The interiors take Sardinian tradition in their own direction: elegant furniture, heavy-beamed ceilings, sheer fabrics, paintings and wide arches leading out to the patio. Guests have the whole of Forte Village to hand, from its restaurants, spa and sports academies to its children’s village; the Piazza Luisa gathers well-known fashion boutiques, and island excursions and entertainment are arranged.

Location

The hotel is part of the Forte Village resort in the south of Sardinia, 42 km from Cagliari.

Spa

The Forte Village thalassotherapy centre has six therapeutic pools of sea and fresh water at varying densities and temperatures, a gym, a Turkish bath, a sauna and hydromassage baths. Programmes cover body care, massage, mud therapy, tonic baths and facial and body treatments.

Sports & leisure

Le Dune has its own infinity pool looking out to sea; across the resort there are ten pools in all, including a lagoon-shaped pool at the Pineta hotel and a two-section children’s pool. The Leisure Land complex brings together a 500-metre go-kart track, a seven-lane bowling alley and courts for basketball, volleyball and five-a-side football. There are 13 tennis courts (11 clay), a full-size natural-grass football pitch, two synthetic five-a-side pitches and a 9-hole golf course, with Is Molas golf club 10 minutes away. On the water: sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and diving. Sports academies led by well-known champions teach football, tennis, rugby, basketball, swimming, fencing, triathlon, chess, dance, netball, karting and boxing.

For children

The Wonderland children’s village has a theatre workshop, a pool area, a water park, Mario the Parrot’s village, an arts and crafts studio, a learning lab where children discover gardening, as well as the Leisure Land park and banana-boat rides. The youngest have their own nursery, there is a Barbie Academy, and babysitting is available. All Wonderland staff hold Worldwide Kids certification, and Mario’s Kids Restaurant is led by Michelin-starred chef Rosanna Marziale.
