About this hotel
General information
Belmond Villa San Michele sits among the hills of Fiesole, a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Florence. The building, linked to the name of Michelangelo, began life as a 15th-century monastery; restored and extended over time, it became a hotel with a park, a pool and rooms that keep their historic character and a sense of old-world grandeur.
Tuscan cooking and wines are served beneath vaulted ceilings and medieval frescoes, beside an open fire or on an open-air terrace overlooking Florence. Seclusion, an unhurried pace and faultless service define the stay. Cookery classes and a shuttle to the city centre are offered, business and private events are hosted, and weddings can be arranged.
Location
The hotel lies in the hills of Fiesole, 15 minutes by car from the centre of Florence and Santa Maria Novella station. Florence Airport is 10 km away and Pisa International Airport 72 km.
