Baglioni Hotel Luna

About this hotel

General information

This palazzo on a canal a few steps from Piazza San Marco dates back to 1118. It once housed a monastery and sheltered the Knights Templar, and later belonged to noble Venetian families. Its 18th-century interiors keep antique furniture, Murano glass chandeliers and an art collection that includes frescoes by pupils of Tiepolo.

Rooms look out over the lagoon and the city, and the gastronomic restaurant has won notable awards. For events there are three rooms — Arazzo for 30, Murano for 60 and the historic 200 m² Marco Polo hall with 18th-century frescoes — plus open-air terraces over the lagoon for up to 60 people. Weddings and honeymoon programmes are arranged, and guests have a private landing stage, limousine service, a concierge, business services, laundry and free Wi-Fi.

Location

The hotel is in the centre of Venice, 80 m from Piazza San Marco. Santa Lucia station is 2 km away, and Marco Polo international airport 7 km, about 30 minutes by boat.

Sports & leisure

Guests can join workshops in traditional Venetian crafts and a range of excursions.

For children

The hotel is well set up for families, with family programmes and babysitting on request.

Restaurants & bars

Every venue carries the Canova name, from a gastronomic dinner to an espresso at the bar, and room service is available.

  • Canova — gastronomic restaurant with Italian and international cooking and an extensive wine list; in the warmer months its terrace overlooks the canal and the Royal Gardens
  • Canova Bistrot — relaxed Italian classics built on local produce, good for a light meal
  • Canova Bar — espresso and aperitifs at a long polished-brass counter, with armchairs upholstered in Rubelli fabrics
Pets

Pets are welcome.
