General information
Built in 1968 and since fully renovated, the five-storey Abano Ritz is run by the fourth generation of the Barillari-Poletto family, which gives it a warm, almost domestic feel. It stands in a 6,000 m² park of classical gazebos, columns and sculpture. Inside, antique furniture, Venetian lamps, gilded ceilings and fine rugs sit comfortably alongside modern technology and comfort.
The resort has a restaurant, three bars and a nightclub, a spa with a medical department, a lounge with a fireplace, a library, two conference halls — Sala Azzurra and Light Blue Hall — and two multi-purpose rooms, Sala Spechi and Mirror Room. Classical concerts are held every week, along with fashion shows, themed dinners, balls and society parties.
Location
The hotel is in the central part of Abano Terme, 60 km from Venice and its international airport.
Spa
The spa is regarded as one of the finest in the region. Its thermal department has two heated Olympic-size pools, one indoor and one outdoor, hydromassage baths and a steam room, alongside massage and mud-therapy rooms, a sauna, solarium, relaxation area and a beauty salon using the hotel’s own cosmetics and Maria Galland. Wellness programmes include phytotherapy, acupuncture, osteopathy, a range of massages and mud baths, with classes in yoga, gymnastics, aqua aerobics and dance.
Sports & leisure
Facilities include a floodlit tennis court, mini golf, a basketball court, running paths, a gym, billiards and table tennis, with bicycle hire and horse riding. Within a few kilometres are several golf clubs: Padova, Montecchia, Frassanelle, Colli Berici, Asolo, Villa Condulmer, Cà della Nave and Albarella.
