General information
Abano Grand Hotel, part of GB Thermae Hotels, stands in the pedestrian centre of Abano Terme, close to Italian fashion boutiques, a concert hall and a theatre. The building is set in a park of exotic flowers, tropical palms and olive trees, and its interiors follow the Louis XV style, with antiques, paintings and bathrooms in pink and green marble.
Thermal medicine is the hotel’s core. The group’s own approach, Termalismo Moderno, combines traditional mud therapy and balneotherapy with Chinese and Ayurvedic practices, modern medical equipment and advances in aesthetic medicine. Dedicated programmes cover detox, anti-ageing, light legs and a Golf Thermal Clinic, alongside a thermal grotto, three thermal pools, a fitness centre, restaurants and bars.
Location
The hotel is in the centre of Abano Terme, 12 km (about 15 minutes by car) from Padua and 60 km from Venice Marco Polo Airport, roughly 45 minutes away. Milan is 250 km away.
Spa
Anti-Aging Thermal Spa brings together a beauty salon, medical and thermal departments. Treatments include massages, facials and body care, mud applications, ozone and classic thermal baths, inhalations and mud therapy for sinusitis, as well as Antistress, Anti Age, Remise en Forme and Fitness & Wellness programmes built around the healing springs. The Venezia Spa bathhouse adds a sauna, a slimming thermal grotto, a UVA solarium, whey and aromatherapy baths, a spa pool and hydrotherapy showers. Access to the thermal centre and pools is included in the stay.
Sports & leisure
Three thermal-water pools sit within the grounds: the outdoor Soleil, the indoor Atlantis with Kneipp foot baths, and the outdoor Etoile with a counter-current lane and hydromassage. There is a gym, and nearby are running paths, tennis courts, mini golf and golf courses, horse riding, trekking and bicycle hire.
Restaurants & bars
Chef Claudio Casarin leads the food and wine programme, favouring light, healthy ingredients, fresh combinations and vivid colour on the plate.
