General information
King David Jerusalem is the flagship of Dan Hotels and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Its grand stone building of 1929 rises from lawns and gardens planted with tall palms, and its windows and terraces look across to the walls of Jerusalem’s Old City, with their domes and minarets on the skyline. The hotel has long been one of the city’s landmarks.
The interiors are classic and stately: spacious public rooms beneath ornate ceilings keep the mood of an earlier age, while the rooms on the upper floors take a lighter contemporary-classic line with handmade parquet. There are restaurants with Old City views, a wine bar, a spa, a garden pool, several historic halls for weddings and receptions, and a synagogue open on Saturdays and Jewish holidays. Room service and the concierge are on hand around the clock.
Location
The hotel stands in central Jerusalem, close to Mamilla and the Jaffa Gate: the Old City, with its quarters and holy places, is about a 15-minute walk away, and a light rail stop is close by. Guests staying at least four nights in a Mini Suite or higher category are met free of charge at Tel Aviv’s international airport; transfers, taxis and car hire can also be arranged.
Spa
The spa sits next to the fitness centre. Experienced therapists offer massages, facials and body treatments, including treatments for couples, and there is a quiet lounge for a hot or cold drink afterwards. Facilities include a sauna, lockers and showers, with access to the outdoor pool in summer for an extra fee.
Sports & leisure
In summer a large outdoor pool opens among the lawns and gardens, and cabanas stocked with drinks, fruit and home-made biscuits can be booked in advance in a secluded corner of the pool garden. The TechnoGym-equipped gym is open 24 hours for guests aged 18 and over. The Old City is easily explored on foot, and the concierge can arrange taxis or car hire for trips further afield.
For children
Beside the main pool there is a separate children’s pool and a play area, and a playground and several parks lie within easy walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel’s kitchens build on local produce and Mediterranean traditions.

Swimming
The garden pool area opens daily in the warmer months, from morning until 5 pm: a large main pool with loungers, a separate children’s pool and a play area alongside. Private cabanas in a quiet part of the garden are reserved in advance.
Pets
Small dogs weighing up to 4 kg are welcome for a fee; they may not enter the pool area or the restaurants.
Rooms
Eight room categories and eleven suite categories, each facing either the Old City or the New City. Rooms on floors 1–4 are classically furnished, while those on floors 5–6 are in a contemporary-classic style with handmade parquet floors.
Every room has air conditioning, an LCD TV with cable channels, free Wi-Fi, a minibar, a safe, a telephone, a desk, a hairdryer and bath amenities; suites add bathrobes and a radio, and most have a jacuzzi bath.
Jerusalem Room
Compact classic room on floors 1–4 facing the New City, with a king or twin beds and a work area; sleeps up to 2 and suits solo travellers well.
