Seven Secrets Resort Lombok

Seven Secrets Resort Lombok is a small, all-suite resort on the white sands of Nipah Beach in North Lombok. Its architecture blends Indonesian motifs with contemporary tropical design: generous, cool interiors, oversized windows framing palms and greenery, and a minimalist look with local touches and up-to-date technology. Across the Lombok Strait, Bali’s Mount Agung rises on the horizon.

There are 24 suites, each with its own jacuzzi and daybed on a private terrace. The resort is geared towards couples: an in-house planner arranges weddings on the beach or with an Indonesian temple ceremony, and meals can be ordered anywhere on the grounds — in the suite, on the sand or by the pool. The resort supports coral restoration off its shore, grows herbs and produce for the kitchen in its own garden and recruits staff from the neighbouring village.

Activities range from the gym to the reef and the skies above the island:

• a gym with Technogym equipment, open 7 am – 10 pm
• an on-site PADI dive centre, with a living coral reef some 30 metres from the shore
• coral restoration programmes with the Indonesia Biru Foundation that guests can join on dives or snorkelling trips
• private catamaran trips among the islets off the coast
• helicopter tours to Mount Rinjani, the Gili Islands or Bali
• golf on two of the island’s courses, ten and 35 minutes’ drive away

The resort fronts Nipah Beach, some two kilometres of white sand where the sea is swimmable all year, with shaded divans on the beach. By the shore, a pool has a swim-up bar.
