Raffles Jakarta

About this hotel

General information

Raffles Jakarta occupies a 52-storey tower in the Kuningan business district and sets out to bring art into the working heart of the capital. It has 173 rooms, 44 of them suites that rank among the most generous in the city; even the entry rooms start at 60 m² with a separate sitting area, and every stay is looked after by Raffles butlers.

The interiors take their cue from the work of one of Indonesia's most celebrated painters: bold palettes, fluid lines, installations drawn from rural life and nature, and the twisting branches of old trees. A doorman-storyteller who knows the history of the hotel and its collection greets arrivals, and an art concierge leads walks through the building. Next door, an arts centre with a museum, galleries and a 1,200-seat theatre extends the theme, while on the 14th floor a roof garden holds pools, water features and sculpture.

Location

The hotel stands in Kuningan, within Jakarta's business 'Golden Triangle', linked by walkways to the complex's shopping mall and arts centre. Jakarta's international airport is about 28 km away, a 45–60 minute drive depending on traffic; transfers are arranged on request.

Spa

Raffles Spa spreads over more than 2,000 m², with six treatment rooms and two VIP couples' suites, a hydrotherapy circuit of steam rooms, experience showers, ice fountains and an outdoor whirlpool, and separate men's and women's relaxation areas with heated loungers. The Signature Heritage Massage blends Hawaiian lomi lomi with Balinese and Javanese techniques; there is also a couples' ritual that opens with a candlelit aromatic bath, and a lavender treatment with a body scrub and warm stones. Facials use Kerstin Florian, body treatments Tropical Spa.

Sports & leisure

The Technogym-equipped fitness centre is open around the clock, with personal training on offer; outside are two tennis courts, a 300 m jogging track, a yoga terrace and open-air pavilions. Private morning sessions of yoga, body balance and stretching are held in the roof garden, and the butlers help plan time in the city:

  • the neighbouring arts centre, with its museum of modern Indonesian art, galleries and theatre
  • Istiqlal, the national mosque and the largest in South-east Asia
  • the old town of Kota Tua, with the Jakarta History Museum and the Glodok Chinatown quarter
For children

Children have a kids' club, their own pool and an outdoor playground in the roof garden.

Restaurants & bars

Dining runs across a restaurant, two bars, a pâtisserie and a club lounge, with in-room dining around the clock:

  • Arts Cafe by Raffles — all-day restaurant with an open kitchen, Indonesian-accented international cooking, a Japanese corner and dry-aged steaks; two private dining rooms, a Friday meat-and-wine dinner called Butcher's Table and a Sunday brunch
  • The Writers Bar — coffee and afternoon tea by day, crafted cocktails by night
  • Navina Pool Bar — roof-garden bar on the 14th floor with pizza, local bites and cocktails; a private poolside pavilion can be reserved for dinner
  • Raffles Patisserie — pastries, cakes and handmade chocolates
  • Raffles Club — club lounge on the 12th floor with views over the skyline, accessible for a supplement
Swimming

The 14th-floor roof garden, planted and threaded with water features and sculpture, holds a 25 m outdoor lap pool, a leisure pool with submerged loungers, a whirlpool and a children's pool, all looking out over the city skyline; Navina Pool Bar serves poolside.
