General information
Bulgari Resort Bali sits on the edge of a 150-metre cliff that drops to a 1.5 km white-sand beach. The Italian architect Antonio Citterio, long associated with the brand, reinterpreted traditional Balinese building here: the 59 villas are built of volcanic stone, bronze lanterns mark their entrances, and walled courtyard gardens lie within.
Interiors pair contemporary Italian design with island motifs — exotic woods and stone, refined furniture, antiques and work by local artists — and each villa has butler service. There is a business centre, parking, car hire, airport transfers, laundry and dry cleaning.
Location
The resort lies on Bali’s south-west coast near Pecatu, on a plateau 150 m above the sea, close to the Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple.
Spa
The spa brings together a pool, relaxation area, yoga pavilion, beauty salon, gym, two pavilions and six treatment rooms with rain showers and plunge pools. Massages and treatments blend Eastern and Western traditions, using natural products, local volcanic stones and exotic aromatic oils.
Sports & leisure
The resort arranges trips to neighbouring islands and volcanoes, including by helicopter, and outings to local shops and markets with a personal shopper.
Restaurants & bars
The intimate Il Ristorante serves refined Italian cooking. Sangkar, on the cliff edge and styled in Indonesian fashion with bamboo lamps, offers Balinese and international dishes, while the open-air bar with ocean views pours a long list of drinks and exotic cocktails.
Swimming
The sandy beach lies 150 m below the resort and is reached by lift.
Rooms
Each of the 59 villas has bedrooms, a glass-walled bathroom, an open living pavilion with a dining area, a garden courtyard and a furnished terrace with a pool. Villas are equipped with Bang & Olufsen technology.
Villas have air conditioning, satellite TV, a multi-line telephone with voicemail, free internet access, a CD/DVD player, a safe, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, a bathroom with bathtub and shower, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.
