About this hotel
General information
Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest is a grand city hotel on Erzsébet tér, right at the heart of Pest. Its bold contemporary building has long been one of the landmark addresses of the inner city. There are 350 rooms, 43 of them suites, and original works by contemporary Hungarian artists from the hotel’s own Corvinus Art Collection hang in the public spaces, corridors and rooms.
The house runs on the rhythm of a large international hotel: a Les Clefs d’Or concierge team, in-room dining around the clock and its own guarded car park. Dining spans a Hungarian-Viennese bistro, a Nobu restaurant, a café in the spirit of Budapest’s old coffeehouses and a cocktail bar, while Kempinski The Spa has an indoor pool looking out over Erzsébet Park. Ten meeting rooms take up to 450 guests for conferences, weddings, exhibitions and fashion shows.
Location
The hotel stands on Erzsébet tér in Budapest’s District V, facing Erzsébet Park and its Ferris wheel, with Fashion Street and its turn-of-the-century façades running directly behind. On foot it is 4 minutes to Vörösmarty Square, 8 to St Stephen’s Basilica, 10 to the Széchenyi Chain Bridge and the Danube and 11 to the Hungarian State Opera; Deák Ferenc tér, where three metro lines meet, is close by. The hotel arranges chauffeured transfers from Budapest Airport in Mercedes S- or E-Class cars or V-Class and Sprinter minivans, and guests arriving by car can use its guarded 24-hour car park in the basement.
Spa
Kempinski The Spa covers 525 m², with four treatment rooms, a tepidarium, a steam room, a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna with higher humidity at a gentler temperature, and a relaxation area by the pool. The travel-inspired menu blends traditional methods with modern technology: signature journeys, massages, and body and facial treatments using VOYA products made with seaweed, sea salts and oils.
Sports & leisure
The gym is open daily from 6:00 to 21:00, with treadmills, an elliptical trainer, bikes and Artis equipment with interactive UNITY consoles. The concierges arrange a three-hour city tour by bus and boat, private car tours and walking tours, book tickets for theatre, opera and museum exhibitions, and organise luxury car hire. On Saturdays at 17:00 The Living Room hosts Concertini, half-hour concerts by young local musicians.
For children
Babysitting can be arranged through the concierge, and the restaurants have a children’s menu. For its youngest guests the hotel has its own story of Foxi, a little fox exploring Budapest, with a colouring booklet, and the concierge suggests family outings around the city.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants and bars run from early morning to late at night, with in-room dining around the clock:
- ÉS Bisztró — a Hungarian-Viennese bistro and steakhouse: goulash, lángos, steaks from the grill, regional and international wines; buffet breakfast, Sunday brunch and, in season, a two-storey terrace over the city centre
- Nobu Budapest — Japanese cooking with Peruvian accents: sushi, sashimi and signatures such as Black Cod Miso; the Nobu bar pours eleven sakes, with resident DJs on Fridays and Saturdays
- The Living Room — a café giving Budapest’s coffeehouse tradition a modern turn: breakfast, light dishes, cakes, the Budapest Afternoon Tea and Valrhona hot chocolate
- Blue Fox The Bar — a cocktail bar for creative signature drinks and bar snacks, with a DJ on Fridays and live bands on Saturdays
- ÉS Deli — a coffee shop and deli for fine coffee and sandwiches
Swimming
The heated indoor pool in the spa measures 7 × 5 m and 1.5 m deep, kept at around 27 °C, with counter-current jets and a neck-massage stream; tall windows look onto Erzsébet Park and the Ferris wheel, and loungers line the water.
Pets
Cats and dogs are welcome (one dog of up to 25 kg per room) when announced at booking, for a daily charge. Each arrives to a basket, rug, bowl and a welcome treat; the concierge can find a dog-sitter with 12 hours’ notice, and Erzsébet Park across the street is there for walks. In public areas pets stay on a lead or in a carrier; they may join guests at ÉS Deli and on the terrace, but not in the spa, restaurants, bars or meeting rooms.
