About this hotel
General information
Las Cruces is a small boutique hotel of 11 suites in the historic heart of Antigua Guatemala, set just behind the ruins of the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen with its ornate baroque façade and twin bell towers. The house follows the city's colonial architecture: suites open onto an inner courtyard with a fountain, there is a quiet sitting room, and an upstairs veranda looks across the old-town rooftops to the volcanoes.
Inside, the hotel displays its own collection of 17th-century baroque art, and original silver pieces of the same period furnish the suites. Service is personal and unhurried, with a front desk staffed around the clock, Wi-Fi throughout and free parking — welcome in a centre of cobbled streets.
Location
The hotel stands on 3a Calle Oriente in the very centre of Antigua Guatemala, a UNESCO World Heritage city at 1,530 m above sea level, directly behind the ruins of the Carmen church (Las Carmelitas). The cobbled streets of the old town begin at the door, and Volcán de Agua rises above the rooftops.
Sports & leisure
Las Cruces is a base for exploring the city at an easy pace on foot. The staff help shape each day around a guest's wishes: walks through the cobbled colonial streets past churches and ruins, outings into the countryside around the volcanoes, or a cup of Antigua coffee, which carries its own protected designation of origin.
Restaurants & bars
Breakfast is served to guests each morning, and room service is available in the suites. The sitting room and the veranda, with views over the city to the volcanoes, are the places to settle in with a coffee after a walk.
Pets
Pets are not accepted.
