Six Senses La Sagesse

About this hotel

General information

Six Senses La Sagesse spreads across some 15 hectares of tropical planting on Grenada’s quiet south-east coast, in the parish of St David. The resort wraps around a lagoon set between two very different shores: the sheltered, shallow water of La Sagesse Bay on one side and the cliffs and Atlantic rollers of L’Anse Pere on the other. It has 56 suites with their own pools and 15 villas of one, two and four bedrooms, drawn from traditional Caribbean architecture and finished in natural, renewable and reclaimed materials.

It works as well for couples as for families. A Guest Experience Maker looks after each stay around the clock, and food and sleep follow the Eat With Six Senses and Sleep With Six Senses programmes. Solar panels heat the water for every suite and villa, drinking water is bottled on site, some 240 plant species grow in the grounds and an organic garden supplies the kitchens. At the Earth Lab guests make natural products from local herbs and spices, and candles from used cooking oil.

Location

The resort lies among green hills on the south-east coast, in St David parish, between La Sagesse Bay and the shore of L’Anse Pere. A private transfer from Grenada’s international airport takes around 40 minutes and is booked in advance; fast-track arrival and a private meet-and-greet lounge can be arranged at the airport. A resort shuttle runs to Grand Anse beach.

Spa

Six Senses Spa sits above the lagoon and is modelled on a Caribbean fishing village, its treatment rooms set around the water. There are single and outdoor treatment rooms, a hammam, two couples’ suites with their own relaxation areas (one with an Alchemy Bar), an integrated wellness centre for screenings and a Biohack Recovery Lounge. Outdoors are a panoramic sauna, a hot pool, a cold plunge and a Kneipp pool, beside a herb garden. Treatments pair island spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg with technology: the Caribbean Cleansing Ritual, with a scrub and mask blended by the guest and a warm coconut oil massage; Journey To Repose, with hot and cold stones and sound therapy; and Traveler’s Biohack, a compression treatment after a long flight. Wellness programmes cover sleep, detox, yoga and fitness.

Sports & leisure
  • A 24-hour, 180 m² fitness centre with a studio for spin, yoga and aerial yoga, a yoga pavilion above the spa and a personal trainer during the day
  • Daily yoga and meditation, Cinema Paradiso under the stars and a library with a fermentation lab
  • A water sports centre with non-motorised craft for kayaking and paddling, and snorkelling
  • E-bike rides through the hills of St David with views along the coast, and a hike to the Seven Sisters Falls
  • Fishing trips with local fishers and sunset sails along the coast
  • Visits to cocoa farmers and beekeepers, a chocolate factory and rum distilleries, and an organic farm run by a local women’s farming group
  • A day in St George’s for spices and chocolate, ending with a swim at Grand Anse
For children

The Nest, the Grow With Six Senses kids’ club, is complimentary and takes children aged 5–12 on their own, while under-fives come with a family member: outdoor games, a scavenger hunt, painting, bracelet, paper and candle making. Teenagers from 13 have their own lounge, Far Out, with foosball, a pool table, darts, board games and PlayStation. There are also a playground, kids’ spa treatments, open-air cinema and sustainability workshops, and babysitting for children from 4 can be booked in the villa or at The Nest.

Restaurants & bars

Menus draw on the Caribbean and South America, the resort’s own garden and the local catch:

  • Callaloo — all-day restaurant with an open kitchen: island breakfasts and fresh bakes, grilled fish at lunch and themed dinners
  • SeaFire — the signature restaurant on the oceanfront: a raw bar and wood-fire grill with sharing plates of spiny lobster, red snapper and lambi (conch) ceviche
  • Panquai — poolside bar and grill with wood-fired pizza, churrasco and cocktails built on local rum, turning into a cocktail bar at night
  • Scoop Café — house-churned ice cream and sorbets, smoothies, cold-pressed juices and cold brew in the garden by the pool
  • Destination & In Villa Dining — beach barbecues, dinners in the chef’s garden, a private chef in the villa and round-the-clock in-villa dining
Swimming

La Sagesse Bay, with its shallow, warm water, suits children well, while the other side of the resort faces the open ocean and the surf of L’Anse Pere. There is an outdoor pool by Panquai and another at the spa, and every suite and villa has a pool of its own. A shuttle takes guests to Grand Anse beach.

Pets

Small, well-trained pets under 7 kg are welcome; larger animals need prior written approval from the resort’s management.
