About this hotel
General information
Waldorf Astoria Berlin occupies a high-rise tower in City West, the western heart of Berlin, a short walk from the Kurfürstendamm and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The interiors pair the Art Deco language long associated with the Waldorf Astoria name with a restrained contemporary polish, and many windows frame the city skyline. There are 232 rooms and suites; 24 of the suites sit high in the tower, reached by their own lifts.
New York lineage shows in the details: Peacock Alley is named after the corridor that once joined the two original Manhattan hotels, and ROCA keeps Eggs Benedict and the Waldorf salad, both first served there. A library lounge overlooks the city from the 15th floor; the 1,000 m² spa and pool occupy the 5th. For events there is a 330 m² ballroom with six-metre panoramic windows, balconies and a gallery, plus five meeting rooms. Butler service is available on request and rooms are serviced twice a day.
Location
The hotel stands at Hardenbergstraße 28 in City West, beside Zoologischer Garten station. The Kurfürstendamm, Berlin Zoo and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church are all within walking distance; the Berlin exhibition centre is 4 km away and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) 28 km. Covered underground parking is valet-only, and there are charging points for electric cars.
Spa
Waldorf Astoria Spa covers about 1,000 m² on the fifth floor, with five treatment rooms, a cloud-shaped pool, sauna, steam room, terrace and a hydrotherapy tub for bubble massage. The menu runs from facials using deep-sea actives from the SeaCreation line and German-made active complexes — lifting, hydrating and calming — to several massages, including the Vitality treatment offered only here, two-hour rituals combining an enzyme peel, hydrotherapy and full-body massage, and computerised skin analysis. A hair salon is part of the spa.
Sports & leisure
The gym is open around the clock, with treadmills, elliptical trainers and free weights, and personal training or tailored fitness plans on request. The concierge team arranges its own experiences: a walking tour starting from the hotel, a private cruise along the Spree and the city's canals with lunch or dinner from ROCA (in the warmer months), and a digital detox programme with a guided morning run, breakfast and a neck massage.
For children
Families can book connecting layouts — the Family Connecting Deluxe Room and the Two Bedroom Corner Suite-Connected — and cots and childcare are available. Children up to 12 may use the spa pool daily from 15:00 to 16:30; under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Restaurants & bars
Dining spreads from the lobby up to the 15th floor:
- ROCA — Italian cooking with a New York edge beneath a hand-painted ceiling mural; a terrace opens in warm weather, and weekends bring the daytime Champagne & Eggs breakfast
- Lang Bar — an Art Deco bar pouring Film Noir-inspired cocktails and original Waldorf Astoria recipes
- The Library — a 15th-floor lounge with city views, serving high tea on Saturdays and Sundays at 14:00
- Peacock Alley — tea through the day, wines, Champagne and signature cocktails
- Serenity — a seasonal terrace for cocktails above Berlin, open in the warmer months
- Times Square — breakfast, with a buffet of regional and seasonal dishes, house-made pastries, fresh juices and Champagne, plus egg dishes to order
In-room dining is also available.
