About this hotel
General information
Schlosshotel Berlin occupies a palatial villa built in 1911 in the leafy Grunewald villa district, on the quiet western side of Berlin. Its architecture takes its cue from Italian palaces in the Renaissance style: oak-panelled halls hung with grand chandeliers, a library with floor-to-ceiling oak cabinets and a painted ceiling, a music room, and a winter garden with arched windows, hand-painted ceiling murals, marble columns and a black-and-white marble floor.
The interiors set contemporary furniture and art gathered from around the world against the carefully preserved historic fabric, so that no two rooms or suites are alike. Besides the rooms and suites in the palace and the apartment-style Residences, the hotel has an Italian restaurant, a cocktail bar, a champagne lounge, a spa with an indoor pool, a longevity hub and a landscaped garden, while its historic salons host celebrations and meetings for 10–400 guests.
Location
The hotel stands on Brahmsstraße in Grunewald, one of Berlin’s most exclusive residential districts, about 20 minutes from the city centre and close to the Grunewald forest. The Messe Berlin congress centre is ten minutes away and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) 25 minutes; a local train station lies a ten-minute walk away, a few stops from the centre. There is parking in front of the hotel, subject to availability.
Spa
The spa is built around a spacious heated indoor pool, with a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a relaxation area with loungers and private treatment rooms where therapists give massages and other treatments. Hotel guests use the spa at no extra charge. Alongside it, the vita4good Longevity Hub offers medically grounded diagnostics — heart-rate variability, body composition, cardiovascular health, VO₂max, sleep and laboratory values — followed by a personal plan and recovery sessions. EIGHTSLEEP beds with individually regulated temperature and real-time sleep tracking are also available.
Sports & leisure
The gym is equipped with cardio machines and functional training kit and, like the spa, opens daily. The heated indoor pool is there for swimming, and in the warmer months guests can settle on the garden loungers and the terrace or walk in the neighbouring Grunewald forest. Longevity programmes from vita4good — diagnostics, a personal strategy and recovery technologies — can be woven into a stay.
Restaurants & bars
Eating and drinking at the hotel revolve around four spaces:
- Catalina — the hotel restaurant, rooted in Italian culinary tradition, with exotic ingredients, prime meat, an à la carte dinner and an international wine list; breakfast is served here too
- PHC Bar — a cocktail bar with classic décor, Lalique crystal and art photography
- Champagne Lounge — a quiet lounge with a selection of champagnes from the Champagne region
- Terrace & Garden — in the warm season, coffee, wine, snacks and outdoor dinners overlooking the garden
Swimming
Swimming is in the spa’s spacious heated indoor pool, open to hotel guests at no extra charge.
Pets
Dogs are welcome in selected room categories, including the Boutique Rooms, for a surcharge. They are given a bed sized to the dog, a blanket, food and water bowls, a treat on arrival and bags for walks, and dog sitting or walking can be arranged on request. Dogs may join their owners in the lobby, the PHC Bar and the Champagne Lounge but not in the restaurant, and the Grunewald forest nearby is ideal for long walks.
