General information
Rosewood Munich occupies two historic buildings in Munich’s Old Town: the former headquarters of the Bavarian state bank and the aristocratic Palais Neuhaus-Preysing. Guests arrive through a monumental porticoed entrance, and inside Bavarian tradition meets contemporary design — rococo-style porcelain figures, marble, a light-filled winter garden and quiet inner courtyards.
There are 132 rooms, suites and Houses, the Asaya Spa with an indoor pool, Brasserie Cuvilliés, the jazz-led Bar Montez and the hidden cocktail bar 100B. Events have a modern ballroom, the historic Salon Neuhaus Preysing, four meeting rooms and a private dining room off the brasserie.
Location
The hotel sits at the heart of Munich’s Old Town, about a 4-minute walk from Odeonsplatz U-Bahn station and 6 minutes from Marienplatz. Munich Central Station is 10 minutes away by car or tram, and Munich Airport roughly 35 minutes by road; private chauffeured transfers are arranged on request.
Spa
Asaya Spa lies beneath the historic building’s old arches, with an indoor pool, saunas, a steam room, a nail studio and treatment rooms. The private Social House has its own sauna and steam bath, a bathtub, a spacious lounge and a room for couples’ massages. Treatments use Dr. Barbara Sturm and Ground Wellbeing products, and yoga and meditation sessions round out the programme.
Sports & leisure
The 24-hour fitness centre has Technogym equipment and a TRX studio, with personal training, nutrition advice, yoga and meditation on offer. On request the hotel provides bicycles, books a tennis court and arranges private outings such as a visit to the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory or a food tour of the Viktualienmarkt.
For children
Families are well looked after, with family suites, children’s amenities and the seasonal Rosewood Explorer programme. Children aged 6 and under stay free in their parents’ room using the existing bedding.
Restaurants & bars
Dining draws on the culinary traditions of the Bavarian Alps and on seasonal local produce:
- Brasserie Cuvilliés — Bavarian classics with Alpine accents; private dining room for up to 14 next door
- Bar Montez — signature cocktails, bar snacks and live jazz
- 100B — a hidden cocktail bar behind an unmarked door
- Wintergarten — a bright winter garden with a fireplace for breakfast and afternoon tea
- Palaishof — open-air dining in a secluded inner courtyard
- Schanigarten — a Bavarian-style summer terrace for lunch and dinner
In-room dining is also available.
Pets
Pets are welcome. Dogs on a lead may join their owners in designated areas of Brasserie Cuvilliés, Palaishof and Wintergarten, but not in Bar Montez or Asaya Spa.

The 132 rooms, suites and Houses pair the character of a Bavarian palace with modern comfort, looking out over the Old Town streets or the quiet inner courtyard. Guests in the Houses have butler service.

Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite
A Deluxe Suite combined with an adjoining room, giving two bedrooms with two king-size beds or one king and two twins. Sleeps up to five.
Grand Premier Two Bedroom Suite
A Grand Premier Suite combined with an adjoining room, overlooking the quiet courtyard, with one king-size and two twin beds. Sleeps up to five.
König Maximilian I. House
A fifth-floor residence with a living room with fireplace, dining room for 12, study and media room, kitchen and a rare courtyard terrace. One king-size bedroom, sleeps up to three.
Prinzessin Augusta House
A fifth-floor residence with a living room with fireplace, dining room for 10, kitchen, balconies and a terrace with Old Town views. King-size bedroom, sleeps up to three.
Prinzregent Luitpold House
A fourth-floor residence with a living room, dining area for eight, kitchen, dressing room and a terrace over the courtyard. King-size bedroom, sleeps up to three.
König Ludwig I. House
A top-floor residence with statuary, a living room with dining area and a large terrace with sweeping Old Town views. King-size bedroom, sleeps up to three.
König Maximilian I. Four Bedroom House
The hotel’s largest residence: four king-size bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, dining room for 12, kitchen and a courtyard terrace. Sleeps up to 12.
Prinzregent Luitpold Three Bedroom House
Three king-size bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a living room, dining area for eight, kitchen and a terrace over the quiet courtyard. Sleeps up to nine.
