About this hotel
General information
Mandarin Oriental, Munich occupies a 19th-century neo-Renaissance building in the middle of the Old Town that once housed an opera house. Carefully restored, it now pairs classical architecture with contemporary comfort and an East-meets-West aesthetic.
It is a small hotel of 73 rooms and suites, among the most spacious in Munich, several of the suites with their own terraces. Its signatures are Matsuhisa Munich, serving Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, and the roof with its heated pool and views of the Frauenkirche and the distant Alps, where Munich Sushi Club opens in summer. Three interconnecting daylight salons host meetings and celebrations, and in the warmer months the roof terrace is available for private parties.
Location
The hotel lies in Munich’s Old Town, next to the Hofbräuhaus. Marienplatz is a 3–5 minute walk; the Viktualienmarkt, the Residenz and the Bavarian State Opera are within five minutes on foot, and the boutiques of Maximilianstraße less than two. Munich main station is about 10 minutes away and Munich Airport around 35 minutes by car.
Spa
The wellness area centres on a Turkish steam bath scented with aromas and finished in hand-cut Italian glass mosaic and grey and white marble, alongside a Finnish sauna. Massages, facials, manicures and skincare consultations come from Amour Fou, an independent beauty house. In-suite sound-healing sessions with singing bowls, holistic energy rebalancing and LVATE IV drips can also be arranged.

Restaurants & bars
Dining brings together Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, relaxed all-day fare and inventive cocktails:
