About this hotel
General information
Breidenbacher Hof stands on the Königsallee, Düsseldorf’s grand shopping boulevard. The first hotel for well-to-do travellers opened here in 1812, in a classical building by the architect Adolph von Vagedes. Today’s hotel carries that tradition on, with interiors that combine classic elegance, velvet and Italian marble with contemporary design.
There are 106 rooms and suites, the Royal Silk Spa with an indoor pool, The Duchy brasserie with its Raw Bar, the Lobby Lounge for afternoon tea and a bar with a cigar lounge. Events use the meeting rooms and the seventh-floor Paffrath Gallery overlooking the Königsallee, and the hotel has its own in-house medical experts.
Location
The hotel is in central Düsseldorf on the Königsallee, about a ten-minute walk from the Old Town and the Rhine promenade. Düsseldorf Airport is roughly 8 km to the north.
Spa
Royal Silk Spa has a 10-metre indoor pool framed by natural stone walls, with a waterfall and loungers, plus Finnish saunas, a steam room and private treatment rooms. Massages draw on ancient traditions and use lemongrass and ginger oils, alongside facials and body treatments. The hotel’s in-house medical experts and the partner Metamedicum private clinic put together personal health and regeneration programmes.
Sports & leisure
The open-plan fitness suite with modern equipment is open from morning until late, and the indoor pool is available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Personal wellness programmes with diagnostics can be arranged.
Restaurants & bars
Dining and drinks are spread across three spaces:
- The Duchy — a Parisian-style brasserie with modern European touches, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; Raw Bar with oysters, caviar and champagne
- Lobby Lounge — coffee, cakes and afternoon tea with more than twenty Ronnefeldt blends
- Bar & Smoking Lounge — cocktails and small plates from 6 p.m. daily, with a walk-in humidor of 124 Cuban and Dominican cigars
