Paragraph Freedom Square, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Tbilisi

About this hotel

General information

Paragraph Freedom Square stands right on Freedom Square, a few steps from the lanes of Old Tbilisi. The building is known for its double-curved glass façade, which mirrors the city around it, while the windows look out over old rooftops towards the distant peaks of the Greater Caucasus. Interiors are worked in warm tones with black-and-white accents, touches of rust and copper and velvet furnishings; the wall patterns draw on the chokha, Georgia’s traditional dress, and on medieval ornament, and paintings and sculpture by local artists fill the corridors and lounges.

There are 220 rooms and suites, five restaurants and bars, a spa across the top three floors with indoor and outdoor pools, and two ballrooms with six meeting rooms. Georgian wine runs through the stay: every room has its own wine fridge, and each evening a sommelier introduces guests to local bottles.

Location

The hotel sits on Freedom Square in central Tbilisi, within walking distance of Old Tbilisi and Rustaveli Avenue. Tbilisi International Airport is about 18 km away. The hotel offers a VIP airport arrival: guests are escorted from the aircraft to a lounge while staff handle the luggage, then driven to the hotel in a private chauffeured Mercedes S-Class. Parking is complimentary, and there are electric-vehicle charging points.

Spa

Paragraph Spa occupies the top three floors and looks out over the city. It has six treatment rooms opening onto terraces, including a couples’ suite with its own jacuzzi, dry saunas, a steam room, a scrub room, an ice cave, indoor and outdoor pools and a relaxation area with an open-air wooden deck. Treatments use ESPA products and cover massages, facials, wraps, scrubs and signature rituals, among them the Active Nutrients Glow with gua sha massage, the Inner Beauty Facial, the Express Facial, the Deep Muscle Massage, the Hot Stone Massage and the ESPA Inner Calm Massage. The Spa Beauty Lounge sits alongside.

Sports & leisure

The gym is fitted with Technogym equipment and backed by a dedicated yoga studio, with group classes such as antigravity yoga, Pilates and PRAMA sessions, aqua fitness in the pool and personal training. Every day at 5 pm a sommelier pours two Georgian wines with sulguni cheese and ham from Racha, and on Friday afternoons the chefs teach pkhali and khinkali in the open kitchen at Gulama. On Thursdays the hotel’s calligrapher writes guests’ names in Georgian script as a keepsake, the concierge team leads a walk to the Tbilisi Opera House with a tour of the building, and Tabori Golf Club is close by.

Restaurants & bars

Five restaurants and bars run from the lobby to the roof, and in-room dining is available around the clock.

  • Ostigan — the signature restaurant on the ground floor: international cooking built on seasonal produce, a long list of Georgian and international wines, marble columns and chandeliers, lunch and dinner, and a private dining room for up to 16
  • Gulama — modern bistro named after a Georgian pancake, where breakfast is served
  • Talan — lobby lounge hung with contemporary Georgian art, serving coffee, teas, homemade cakes and the Talan High Tea, with live music
  • Chinari Sky Bar & Lounge — ninth-floor bar with night-time city views, signature cocktails, a wine list and live piano
  • Eary Rooftop Terrace & Bar — leafy roof terrace open in the warmer months, with grills, salads, light bites and brunch
Swimming

The spa on the upper floors has two pools: an indoor circular pool and an outdoor infinity pool overlooking the city.
