About this hotel
General information
The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa occupies Motu Tape in the Bora Bora lagoon, looking across turquoise water to the peak of Mount Otemanu. Most of its accommodation is overwater bungalows, with beach villas set along a long stretch of white sand; sixty-two of the bungalows and villas have their own saltwater plunge pools. Interiors pair a modern look with Polynesian detail.
The resort plays two roles. For couples and honeymooners there are secluded bungalows on stilts and quiet beach walks at sunset. For those after company there is an infinity pool with a swim-up bar, live music in the evenings and a weekly Polynesian show of dance, drums and fire. The resort’s Eco Centre cares for rescued sea turtles, and the kitchens source ingredients locally. Heavenly Spa by Westin and six restaurants and bars complete the picture.
Location
The resort sits on Motu Tape, on the edge of the Bora Bora lagoon facing Mount Otemanu. Bora Bora airport on Motu Mute is about 9 km away; the hotel provides the airport transfer in both directions, with a motu water taxi available as a pre-booked alternative. A daily shuttle links the resort with the main island, where the village of Vaitape has its shops.
Spa
Heavenly Spa by Westin opens every treatment with the Three Stones Ritual, a short pause to focus on hope, gratitude and love. The menu includes Polynesian Taurumi, a traditional massage with flowing, wave-like movements; the Heavenly Bora Bora Massage with organic coconut oil and a guided meditation; Aito deep-tissue work with Balinese techniques; and bamboo, rose granite hot stone and Tibetan singing bowl massages. Body treatments include Tamiti, a scrub of Bora Bora sea salt, coconut shell and noni oil finished with tiare cream, while facials range from Hydrafacial to Japanese Kobido massage.
