About this hotel
General information
Le Bora Bora occupies Motu Tevairoa, a coral islet in the Bora Bora lagoon that looks across the water to Mount Otemanu, with no other resort on its horizon. A member of Relais & Châteaux, it has 108 bungalows and villas built in a traditional Polynesian idiom of pandanus roofs, timber floors and carved wood, set in a coconut-palm garden, on the beach and on stilts over the lagoon.
The grounds double as a gallery of Polynesian culture, with sculpture, tiki, painting and legend by local artists. There are three restaurants and two bars serving international cooking with a French-Polynesian accent, the Tāvai Spa in the garden, a swimming pool, a house coral garden for snorkelling, coral nurseries and courts for tennis and other games. Three boutiques above reception sell clothing, souvenirs and Tahitian black-pearl jewellery.
Location
The resort sits on Motu Tevairoa in the Bora Bora lagoon, facing Mount Otemanu. Bora Bora airport on Motu Mute is ten minutes away by boat and Vaitape, the island’s main village, fifteen minutes across the lagoon; a paid boat shuttle links the resort with the main island. Bora Bora is a 50-minute Air Tahiti flight from Tahiti.
Spa
The Tāvai Spa is tucked into the resort’s gardens, with single and couples’ treatment rooms, open-air Vichy showers and a sauna. The menu covers Polynesian massage, hot-stone massage with fragrant monoï oil, the traditional Tahitian taurumi massage, Vichy-shower body scrubs and a signature “Le Bora Bora” treatment. Facials use Cinq Mondes; body treatments use Laboratoire de Cosmétologie du Pacifique Sud, a family-run Tahitian brand built on the islands’ plants.

Swimming
