Cap Ferrat

Royal-Riviera

About this hotel

General information

Built in 1904 as the Hotel Bedford, this mansion stands at the water’s edge on Cap-Ferrat among cypresses, olive trees and a lush exotic garden. Inside, Art Deco refinement meets present-day comfort: pastel tones, marble columns, well-chosen artworks and wide sunlit terraces over the sea and garden. The building is regarded as part of the old resort’s history and architecture.

Rooms are divided between the main building and a separate villa, L’Orangerie. There is a spa with a gym, two restaurants, an ethnic-style bar, a poolside café and a private sandy beach. Three meeting rooms for 10–150 people and a business centre serve corporate guests, and there is also a boutique, laundry, parking and a wedding service.

Location

The hotel is on Cap-Ferrat between Nice and Monaco: 10 km (around 20 minutes) from central Nice, 8 km (around 15 minutes) from Monaco and 15 km, roughly 25 minutes by car, from Nice international airport.

Spa

The spa has a sauna, steam room, gym and treatment rooms. Anti-ageing care, body-contouring programmes and classic treatments use Thalgo, a marine cosmetics brand based on natural ingredients.

Sports & leisure

The heated outdoor pool hosts aqua aerobics, and yoga and Pilates classes take place in the garden or on the beach. The beach offers water-skiing, jet skis, parasailing, boat hire and other water sports equipment.

For children

On request the hotel arranges outings and sports activities for children; sand toys are provided on the beach and there are children’s menus in the restaurants and on room service. Opposite the hotel, Villa Kérylos runs pottery and mosaic workshops.

Restaurants & bars

Places to eat and drink are spread between the main house, the garden and the pool.

  • La Table du Royal — French cooking by chef Bruno Le Bolch, with a fine wine list
  • La Pergola — summer poolside restaurant for salads, Mediterranean dishes and grilled meat and fish (April–October)
  • Le Cap Lounge — ethnic-style bar with a terrace over the garden
  • Pool Bar — poolside cocktails (April–October, closed on rainy days)
  • The Deck — a terrace in the flowering garden for tea or a cocktail

Room service is available.

Swimming

The hotel’s own equipped sandy beach is open from late May to late September, with a lifeguard on duty from 9 am to 6 pm.
