About this hotel
General information
Hôtel Plaza Athénée opened in 1913 on Avenue Montaigne, the street of Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino and Armani, and has remained a byword for classic Parisian style ever since. Josephine Baker, Rudolph Valentino, Grace Kelly, Gary Cooper and Jacqueline Kennedy all stayed for long spells. The Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais, the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée du Quai Branly are close by, as are the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Théâtre Marigny and the Théâtre du Rond-Point.
The interiors fall into two moods: lower floors are classically French, with antique lamps, carved furniture and paintings, while the two top floors are in a light Art Deco that echoes the lines of the Eiffel Tower. There are four restaurants, a bar, a summer terrace, a wine cellar, a Dior spa and a fitness centre, two meeting rooms for up to 120 guests, a business centre and a limousine service, with dedicated programmes for honeymooners and children.
Location
The hotel stands on Avenue Montaigne in historic central Paris, about 30 minutes by car from Orly Airport and 40 minutes from Charles de Gaulle.

Dior Institut was conceived with the house of Christian Dior specifically for the Plaza Athénée, with six treatment rooms, one for couples, and face and body rituals developed by the fashion house’s experts. There is also a sauna and a hammam, Californian, Thai, Swedish and shiatsu massage in the spa or the room, and a hairdresser on request.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre is equipped by Cybex and offers tae bo and yoga, a nutritionist, a personal trainer on request, and anti-stress and toning programmes.
