Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris

About this hotel

General information

Le Royal Monceau opened in 1928 in an elegant mansion a few minutes’ walk from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées. A complete renovation in 2010 by Philippe Starck gave it a bohemian, artistic Parisian chic: rooms come with art books and tuned LAG acoustic guitars, and guitar lessons can be arranged in-house.

Art is part of daily life here, from the cinema and the Art District gallery to a bookshop of rare art titles and an art concierge who talks guests through the collection. The garden was laid out by landscape architect Louis Benech. There is also a spa with one of the largest pools in Paris, French and Italian restaurants, bars, three meeting rooms and five banqueting rooms, boutiques, a recording studio, a kids’ club, car hire and a limousine service.

Location

The hotel is on Avenue Hoche, a few steps from the Arc de Triomphe and close to the Champs-Élysées and the city’s main sights.

Spa

The 1,500 m² My Blend by Clarins spa has a 23-metre pool — one of the largest in Paris — a sauna, hammam, steam room, gym and treatment rooms offering face and body care with the premium My Blend by Clarins line.

Sports & leisure

The hotel has a 100-seat cinema and the Art District exhibition space, which stages annual shows by contemporary artists from around the world; it also hosts contemporary art auctions, guitar lessons and excursions around Paris. The spa adds a 23-metre pool and a gym.

For children

A kids’ club welcomes children aged 6–12, and babysitting is available on request.

Restaurants & bars

Two Michelin-starred restaurants are joined by several bars.

  • La Cuisine — French haute cuisine, one Michelin star, with desserts by Pierre Hermé
  • Il Carpaccio — Italian cooking in a Sicilian Baroque setting, one Michelin star
  • Terrace Garden — summer terrace in the green inner courtyard, serving both restaurants’ menus and drinks from the bar
  • Le Bar Long — a Philippe Starck-designed bar for signature cocktails and small plates
  • The Viñales Club — a red-toned cigar bar with more than 50 cigar brands

Rooms

Designed by Philippe Starck, the 149 rooms, suites and apartments blend 1940s–1950s French classicism with ultra-modern design: noble materials, pastel tones, designer furniture, large mirrors, art books, contemporary photography and acoustic guitars. High-tech bathrooms include dressing areas, and windows look onto Parisian streets or the inner garden.

In each room

Rooms have a writing desk, a minibar, Wi-Fi and a plasma TV with 99 channels from 22 countries, with a Wii and PlayStation on request.
