Fitz Roy

About this hotel

General information

The small Fitz Roy, a member of Design Hotels, sits in the centre of Val Thorens at the foot of the glacier, beside the lifts and a wide choice of pistes. Its interiors pair understated taste with Alpine touches: pale natural wood, fabrics in refined colours, soft carpets, fireplaces and carefully chosen objects.

After skiing, guests return to a Carita spa with a pool, a restaurant serving Savoyard and international cooking and a bar around a large open fire. There is a shop for ski equipment, an internet corner, international newspapers, parking, a resort shuttle, laundry and dry cleaning. Balconies look out over the slopes and the valley.

Location

The hotel is in the centre of Val Thorens, next to the lifts. Moûtiers is 35 km away, Chambéry international airport 112 km, Geneva airport 145 km and Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport 185 km; Paris is 665 km.

Spa

The Carita spa has an indoor pool, a sauna, a steam room and treatment rooms offering massages, facials and programmes using natural products from well-known skincare lines.

Sports & leisure

The hotel gives access to three ski areas and pistes at 2,300 m, with downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding and sledging. Equipment can be bought or hired in the hotel shop.

For children

Some rooms for two adults can take a child under 12 on the sofa, and babysitting is available on request.

Restaurants & bars

The elegant restaurant serves Savoyard and international dishes, seafood and traditional Alpine recipes. The bar, built around a massive open fireplace, has live piano music.
