General information
Airelles Château de la Messardière occupies a 19th-century château on a hill above the Bay of Saint-Tropez, set in 13 hectares of Mediterranean parkland. For decades it belonged to a wealthy aristocratic family, Parisian society held Gatsby-style parties here in the 1920s, and in 1989, after a thorough restoration, it became a hotel. The architecture mixes Anglo-Moorish, French and Italian influences, and the interiors pair contemporary décor with period charm.
It suits romantic escapes, family holidays and active stays alike, with several restaurants including Matsuhisa, a 1,000 m² Valmont spa, a kids’ club, a private beach club, and tennis and padel courts. There are rooms for business and celebrations, an organic garden, Vanille & Lilas boutiques, shuttles to the beach and central Saint-Tropez, a limousine service and a concierge, and weddings and honeymoons are arranged.
Location
The hotel sits on a hillside a few minutes’ drive from the beach and the centre of Saint-Tropez, about 30 minutes from La Môle–Saint-Tropez airport and 90 km from Nice International Airport.
Spa
The 1,000 m² Valmont Spa has an indoor pool, a hammam, a sauna, a hair salon, relaxation areas and nine treatment rooms, where face and body treatments combine traditional and advanced techniques with Valmont and Sodashi products.
Sports & leisure
There are three outdoor pools — a heated one overlooking Pampelonne Bay, an adults’ garden pool and a children’s pool at the kids’ club — plus the spa’s indoor pool. The fitness centre has Technogym equipment, an outdoor area and a yoga and Pilates studio, and there are two grass tennis courts and two padel courts. Boxing, pétanque, cookery classes, boat trips, excursions and e-bike rides are on offer, and bikes and tennis equipment can be hired.
For children
In summer the kids’ club welcomes children from three years old, with an outdoor pool, a playground with a pirate ship, a mini farm and a 500 m² activity centre with a cinema, themed playrooms and a Lego workshop. The programme spans crafts, sport, discovery, cookery classes, games and adventures.
Restaurants & bars
The kitchens travel from Japan and Peru to Italy, Provence and India; in-room dining and picnics are available.

Swimming
The hotel has its own sandy beach and the Jardin Tropezina beach club, with a restaurant, bar and boutique, a few minutes away by car; transfers are provided.
Rooms
The 88 rooms and suites are decorated in a refined Provençal style, and balconies and terraces look over Mediterranean gardens and Pampelonne Bay.
Rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, a safe and a minibar, and bathrooms have a tub and/or shower, a hairdryer, toiletries and bathrobes.
