General information
Altapura opened in December 2011 in Val Thorens, at the heart of the Three Valleys. Its glass façade, wrapped in solar panels, makes the building look like an iceberg among the snowfields, and its ecological approach sits alongside ultra-modern design and high-tech fittings.
Natural wood and stone set off the architecture, and the décor draws on Nordic traditions. Alpine hospitality meets the festive, cosmopolitan mood of a modern resort: three restaurants, three bars and a 1,000 m² spa with a pool. There are also two meeting rooms of 85 and 100 m², business services, a Goitschel sports shop, parking, a shuttle to the centre, a concierge, laundry and dry cleaning.
Location
The hotel stands at 2,300 m, beside the pistes and a short distance from the centre of Val Thorens, which a shuttle serves.
Spa
The 1,000 m² Pure Altitude Spa is designed in a Scandinavian and Baltic spirit, with an indoor-outdoor pool, dry and steam saunas, cascade showers and a snow igloo. Seven birch-lined treatment rooms offer programmes rooted in Nordic traditions and natural mountain ingredients.
Sports & leisure
The surroundings offer downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sledging and other winter sports. Skis and equipment can be hired from the hotel’s ski shop.
For children
There is a playroom and a programme of activities for children.

Three restaurants and three bars cover every mood, from fondue to an evening of music.

The hotel sits right on the pistes, with ski-in, ski-out access and a storage room for skis and equipment.

The 88 rooms and suites, from the Classic Room to the Cocooning Suite, combine contemporary design with Alpine tradition — natural wood, warm tones and fine textiles — and panoramic windows look out over the slopes and Val Thorens.
Rooms have an LCD TV, a telephone, a Mac mini computer, an iPhone/iPod dock, Wi-Fi, a safe, a minibar and a hairdryer.

Deluxe Room
A double bed and a sitting area open to the bedroom with a sofa bed for a child, piste views and a twin-basin bathroom with shower and bath. Sleeps two adults and one child.
Junior Suite
A double bed and an open sitting area with a sofa bed for a child, piste views and a twin-basin bathroom with shower and bath. Sleeps two adults and one child.
Junior Family Suite
A double bedroom with an open sitting area and sofa bed, plus a small adjoining room for a second child; twin-basin bathroom with shower and bath. Sleeps two adults and two children, spa access included.
Cocooning Suite
A double bed, an open sitting area with two single beds for children and a balcony with mountain views; twin-basin bathroom with shower and bath, separate WC. Sleeps two adults and two children.
Duplex
On two levels: a living room that sleeps two children and a shower room below, a mezzanine bedroom under the eaves with an open bathroom with bath above; piste views. Sleeps two adults and two children.
