About this hotel
General information
The Oberoi, Sahl Hasheesh is an all-suite resort spread over 48 acres of its own shoreline at Sahl Hasheesh, on the Red Sea coast south of Hurghada. Its architecture draws on local tradition: tall domes crown the rooms, and neoclassical columns, eight-pointed star motifs, handcrafted lanterns and papyrus lamps sit beneath them, while broad arched windows let in the desert light.
At the heart of the resort is a 43-metre infinity pool that seems to run into the sea, with a white sand beach and a private pier beyond. The largest suites have their own pools, and a round-the-clock butler service looks after every guest. A PADI dive centre, The Oberoi Spa, the Indian restaurant Zaafran and a complimentary daily programme, from cooking classes to yoga and stargazing, complete the picture.
Location
The resort sits on the Red Sea coast at Sahl Hasheesh, about 20 minutes by car from Hurghada Airport; flights from Cairo to Hurghada take around an hour. Senzo Mall is roughly 10 minutes away by road. Airport transfers in Mercedes-Benz cars can be arranged on request.
Spa
The Oberoi Spa is set in a secluded garden, with private treatment rooms, a couples' suite and a steam room. The menu pairs Balinese, Thai and Ayurvedic massage with signature Oberoi therapies, facials use Omorovicza products, and yoga stretch sessions are on offer too. The spa is open to resident guests only.
Sports & leisure
The sea sets the rhythm, though not exclusively:
- a PADI dive centre: sea, night and private dives by boat, supervised by PADI professionals, and courses from Open Water Diver to Divemaster
- the resort's private boat for half- or full-day trips, sunset cruises around nearby islands with views of the coastal mountains, and guided snorkelling over the coral reefs
- a complimentary programme: an introductory dive, cooking classes with the chefs, wine and tea tastings, yoga and Pilates, boxing, HIIT, pétanque and stargazing; private sessions at extra cost
- an air-conditioned fitness centre with cardio and strength machines and free weights
- desert outings by 4×4 and quad bike
- golf on Hurghada's courses, with tee times booked by the concierge
- a day trip to Luxor taking in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens
Restaurants & bars
Five restaurants and bars serve the resort:
- The Restaurant — international cuisine; breakfast and dinner in the dining hall, on the open-air terrace with sea views or in the courtyard
- Zaafran — Indian dining by candlelight beneath a silver-leaf ceiling, with live traditional music and views over a starlit courtyard
- The Bar — cocktails, drinks, light snacks and Cuban cigars, its canopied terrace looking across the pool to the sea
- The Beach Bar — tropical cocktails and grilled dishes right on the sand, from mid-morning until sunset
- The Pergola — relaxed Mediterranean and Far Eastern lunches by the pool, on the beach or under the pergolas
In-room dining runs around the clock, and private dinners for two can be set up under a wooden canopy on the pier.

The 43-metre infinity pool has an adults-only section, two whirlpools and a small splash pool for children.
