General information
Sonesta Star Goddess is a Sonesta riverboat with no ordinary cabins: all 33 of her guest rooms are suites. She sails the Nile between Luxor and Aswan, and every suite has its own terrace and double-glazed panoramic French windows that open to let in the breeze off the river. The three suite types — Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin — differ in size and in where they sit on the ship.
Days revolve around guided excursions ashore to the temples, tombs and ruins along the river, with time in between on the sun deck, which has a pool, a bar and a barbecue. There is also a spa and fitness centre with a gym and massage, in-suite dining until midnight and an evening programme on board. Full board and the excursions on the itinerary are included in the cruise.
Location
The ship sails only between Luxor and Aswan, using her own docking points in both cities. Three-night cruises run from Aswan to Luxor and four-night cruises from Luxor to Aswan, while seven-night round trips start and end in the same city, Luxor or Aswan. Along the way she passes Esna and stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo; the order of visits can change with navigation conditions.

The spa and fitness centre on board pairs a gym with massage treatments.
Sports & leisure
Guests go ashore every day with an English-speaking guide; other languages can be arranged on request, sometimes at extra cost. The itineraries take in Karnak and Luxor Temple, the West Bank with the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens and the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the double temple at Kom Ombo and, in Aswan, the High Dam, the ancient granite quarries and the temple on Philae. Aswan also brings a felucca sail around the botanical island. On board there is a gym and a sun deck with a pool.
Restaurants & bars
Meals on board are full board — breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner — and in-suite dining is available until midnight.
- Main Dining Room — the main restaurant, with buffet breakfast and lunch and à la carte dinner; lunch is also served à la carte when fewer than 20 guests are on board
- Sun Deck Bar & Barbecue — a bar on the sun deck overlooking the Nile, serving cocktails and drinks until sunset alongside barbecue dishes
- Lounge — off the lobby, with light meals, cocktails and other drinks, and music in the evenings
Swimming
The pool sits on the sun deck with sweeping views over the Nile, next to the bar and barbecue area.
Rooms
There are 33 suites on board: 27 Beethoven Suites of 40 m², four Mozart Suites of 35 m² and two Chopin Suites of 52 m². Each has a private terrace and panoramic windows onto the Nile.
Each suite has a 43-inch LED TV with a live channel tracking the voyage, double-glazed panoramic French windows, free Wi-Fi, a direct-dial phone, individual climate control, electronic locks, a minibar, a safe, a hairdryer, a bathroom with a full-size bathtub, purified filtered water and a bottle of local wine on arrival.
Beethoven Suite
The ship's most numerous suite, with a private terrace and panoramic Nile-facing windows, on a deck allocated by the ship. A queen-size bed or two twins and a bathroom with a full-size bathtub; sleeps three.
Beethoven Suite Upper Deck
The same Beethoven Suite, guaranteed on the upper deck, Deck 5. A private terrace, a queen-size bed or two twins and a bathroom with a full-size bathtub; sleeps three.
Mozart Suite
A more compact suite with a private terrace, panoramic windows and a queen-size bed. A pull-out sofa takes a third guest, and the bathroom has a full-size bathtub.
Mozart Suite Upper Deck
A Mozart Suite guaranteed on Deck 5, with a private terrace. A queen-size bed or two twins, a pull-out sofa for a third guest and a bathroom with a full-size bathtub.
Chopin Suite
The most spacious of the suites, one of two on Deck 5, with a private terrace and panoramic windows. A queen-size bed or two twins and a spa bathroom with a steam bath, Jacuzzi and water massage; sleeps three.
