About this hotel
General information
Eden Roc Cap Cana is a boutique resort within the exclusive Cap Cana community, on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, and the country’s only Relais & Châteaux member. Its look borrows from the glamour of the Italian and French Riviera: villas set among lush gardens and lagoon-style pools, luxurious without being loud.
The resort is split into two parts. An inland garden quarter, 300 m from the sea, holds stand-alone suites and villas with their own pools, while the Beach Club by the shore has beachfront suites and oceanfront bungalows. There are 68 accommodations in all; every guest has a butler and a golf cart for getting around, and breakfast and airport transfers are included. Dogs and cats are welcome, and there is a kosher dining programme.
Location
The resort lies in Cap Cana, in La Altagracia province, in the Punta Cana area. Guests are met at Punta Cana International Airport and brought in by private transfer. The Punta Espada golf course is 5 minutes away and the Cap Cana marina 15 minutes.
Spa
Eden Roc Spa by Natura Bissé uses the brand’s products throughout. It has couples’ rooms with double massage tables and a marble soaking tub, a sauna and steam room, a fitness studio with cardio and strength equipment, and a salon with a bridal suite; treatments can also be taken in the suite. The Eden Roc’s Lifestyle programme brings together beach yoga, meditation, HIIT, dance classes, personal training and a healthy menu.
Sports & leisure
The headline is Punta Espada, an 18-hole, par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature championship course laid out along the clifftop coast. Everything else is arranged within Cap Cana:
- tennis — four Har-Tru clay courts at Golden Bear Lodge, with lessons and clinics for all levels
- riding and polo — Los Establos Cap Cana, with competition arenas and two polo fields
- the marina, 15 minutes away — yacht charters, deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, diving and sailing trips, plus surfing and kitesurfing at Macao beach
- eco-adventures — a coastal zip line, buggy tours through tropical forest, the Hoyo Azul cenote, caves and mountain-bike trails
- on site — kayaks, beach bikes, cooking classes and wine tastings
For children
Koko Kid’s Club, for ages 4–12, is designed as a treehouse, with a craft corner, video games, a mini buffet, a space for play and storytelling, a fenced sandy play area and child-sized kayaks for the lagoon. The team runs scavenger hunts, contests and supervised beach games. Families also have non-motorised water sports, water basketball and volleyball, movie nights, camping-tent sleepovers, babysitting and two-bedroom family suites.
Restaurants & bars
The kitchens pair Mediterranean technique with Caribbean produce, and in-suite dining runs around the clock.
- Mediterraneo — Mediterranean dinners with Caribbean touches, a European-style dining room and a terrace above the pool
- BLUE Grill + Bar — fusion cooking with a show kitchen and poolside rotisserie, from breakfast to dinner
- La Palapa by Eden Roc — a beachfront pavilion for seafood, sushi and ceviche, with some tables over the water
- Riva Bar — a nautical-themed cocktail bar with live piano and refined small plates
- Eden Roc Beach Club — a beach bar for cocktails and light bites, plus a gelato bar with smoothies and fresh juices
- Punta Espada Restaurant and Hoyo 19 Sports Bar — the golf club’s restaurant and sports bar, both looking over the Caribbean Sea
Swimming
The Beach Club has its own Blue Flag beach, reserved for guests, with loungers and umbrellas on the deck and an ocean-view pool a few steps from the sand. The garden quarter has lagoon-style pools, and most suites, bungalows and villas come with a private pool or Jacuzzi.
Pets
Dogs and cats are welcome, with a bed, treats and bowls laid on, and a litter tray and toys for cats; grooming is handled by the partner centre Hospetality. Pets must be on a lead and are not allowed in the spa or gym, but may join their owners in every restaurant. A supplement is charged for any damage, and entry into the country requires a veterinary certificate, identification and a rabies vaccination.
Rooms
The 68 accommodations are divided between pool suites and villas in the garden quarter, beachfront suites at the Beach Club and oceanfront bungalows. Larger private villas of five to eleven bedrooms are let separately.
