About this hotel
General information
Fairmont Golden Prague stands in Josefov, at the river end of Pařížská street, right on the bank of the Vltava. The building is a striking piece of brutalism, reinterpreted through Czech art and contemporary craftsmanship: wide original windows, lamps made to order, natural materials and warm colours. An art gallery occupies the ground floor, artwork runs through the spa, and the breakfast room keeps a restored wooden coffered ceiling and stained-glass panels.
Rooms and suites are joined by serviced residences with their own kitchens in an adjacent building, while the upper floors belong to Fairmont Gold, a hotel within the hotel with its own reception and guest lounge. Six restaurants and bars cover Czech, Asian and European cooking, with the rooftop venues looking out over the city. The centrepiece is a 1,400 m² spa with a garden and the only pool in central Prague where you can swim from indoors to the open air. For celebrations there is the Grand Ballroom, which holds up to 600 guests.
Location
The hotel is at Pařížská 30 in Josefov, the part of the Old Town that runs down to the Vltava. Old Town Square is within walking distance, the nearest Old Town metro station is less than a kilometre away, a tram stop sits right beside the hotel, and the main railway station is within 4 km. Prague Airport is about 15 km away, and the hotel can arrange a transfer on request. Guests have an underground garage with valet or self-parking.
Spa
Fairmont Spa covers 1,400 m² and blends European spa traditions, Nordic know-how and a Zen-like calm. It has five treatment suites with natural daylight and private patios opening onto a garden above the river, three saunas including an infrared one, a steam bath and a fireside relaxation area. Therapists offer massages, facials and body rituals with organic skincare, combining traditional and modern techniques.
Sports & leisure
The 176 m² fitness studio is open around the clock and equipped by Artis Technogym; next to it is a group exercise studio for everything from yoga to specialised training, along with personal training and the Fairmont Fit programme. The guest services team arranges private ways to see the city: an after-hours visit to Prague Castle with St Vitus Cathedral, the crown jewels and Golden Lane once the public has left; a guided ride on a restored historic tram that sets off close to the hotel; a look inside the Astronomical Clock; private tours built around history, architecture, literature, music or film; and a private boat on the Vltava with its own captain and a route shaped to the guest.
For children
Babysitting can be arranged on request. During The Fairmont Brunch there is a supervised kids’ corner with games and activities.
Restaurants & bars
The hotel has six restaurants and bars, plus a rooftop terrace:
- Zlatá Praha — a rooftop restaurant under golden chandeliers, giving traditional Czech cooking a contemporary reading through seasonal produce, with international wines and views across Prague; booking ahead is essential.
- Golden Eye — a top-floor restaurant and bar serving Southeast Asian food, handcrafted cocktails and DJ sets in a 1970s-inspired setting.
- Greenhouse — an indoor-outdoor space devoted to Czech tradition, with Pilsner beer, good wines and dishes from the Josper grill and rotisserie.
- Kafka Brasserie — a modernist room for breakfast and brunch with a wooden coffered ceiling and stained-glass panelling.
- Tilia Garden — a health-focused café on the spa floor, named after the linden tree, the national symbol of the Czech Republic: superfood juices and smoothies, herbal teas, oat bowls and plant-based dishes, with a terrace over the spa garden and service by the pool.
- Coocoo’s Nest — the lobby bar, linked to the art gallery, for coffee, light meals, drinks and nightcaps.
- The Rooftop Terrace — a terrace on the roof looking down Pařížská street and across to the green slopes of Letná Park.
In-room dining is available 24 hours a day.
Swimming
The heated L-shaped pool in the spa runs from indoors to outdoors and is open all year; beside it in the garden are an outdoor whirlpool, loungers among the greenery and space to sit in the sun on bright days.
Pets
Pets are welcome but are not allowed in the restaurants, bars or spa.
