About this hotel
General information
Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague is an intimate boutique hotel on a quiet Old Town street, a few minutes' walk from Old Town Square. The idea is to bring the pace of modern city life together with the mood of the East: the interiors follow an eclectic Oriental style rooted in colonial Asia, with red set against gold, Macassar wood furniture contrasting with red lacquer, and cut-glass lamps keeping the light low and warm.
There are 35 rooms, three of them suites named after the Three Jewels of Buddhism — Dharma, Sangha and Buddha. Music is part of the concept, and every room has its own sound system loaded with the Buddha-Bar library. Siddharta Café serves the daytime hours, while evenings move to the Buddha-Bar restaurant and bar in the same building. A private Spa Suite with a sauna and fireplace, a 24-hour reception and a concierge complete the picture.
Location
The hotel stands on Jakubská street in Prague 1, in the Old Town: Old Town Square is about three minutes away on foot and Charles Bridge around ten, while the boutiques of Pařížská street and the Josefov quarter are close by. Prague Airport is 15 km away; the hotel arranges transfers by Mercedes E-Class, Mercedes S-Class limousine or Mercedes V-Class minivan, as well as a car with driver by the hour. Valet parking is available around the clock.
Spa
The Spa Suite is a private space with an infrared sauna, a steam bath, a fireplace and a relaxation area. The menu covers a range of massages and rituals using La Sultane de Saba, a French line drawn from Eastern beauty traditions, and every treatment can be booked for two at the same time. On request the suite is set up for a romantic evening for two, with the fire lit, music playing and champagne on ice, while scented candles and herbal tea set the mood.
Sports & leisure
There is no gym in the hotel itself; instead, guests use the three-storey Xplore Fitness club on Na Příkopě, about five minutes away, free of charge, with a gym, group classes, martial arts and a solarium, and staff are happy to walk guests over. Runners and walkers can pick up the hotel's own route maps of the historic centre. The concierge helps with any plans, from where to try local food or watch the sunset from Prague's best viewpoints to booking a private guide for the Old Town, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.
Restaurants & bars
Siddharta Café, a pop-art restaurant and lounge reached directly from the hotel, serves Euro-Asian fusion cooking with cocktails and a wine list; it is open for breakfast and lunch and caters events around a chosen theme. Evenings belong to Buddha-Bar in the same building — a restaurant for pan-Asian and Pacific Rim cooking with sushi and the dishes found at every Buddha-Bar, and a bar pouring cocktails made with carefully chosen spirits to DJ sets.
Pets
Pets are welcome for a nightly fee, which includes a pet bed and a welcome treat.
