General information
Andaz Prague occupies the Sugar Palace, a monumental early 20th-century building on Senovážné náměstí, raised for the sugar industry’s insurance association. The restoration kept the building’s character intact: ornate high ceilings, oak parquet, wood panelling and tall windows survive in the Collegium halls and the largest suites. There are 176 rooms and suites, each looking out over the historic streets around the square.
Inside, Prague’s heritage meets contemporary art and Czech legend — many beds have blue velvet headboards crowned by the lion from the tale of the knight Bruncvík. As Hyatt’s lifestyle brand, Andaz keeps the mood lively and relaxed: there is the avant-garde ZEM bistro, the MEZ cocktail bar, a spa with sauna and a 24-hour gym, plus three flexible Andaz Studios and the grand Collegium halls for meetings and celebrations.
Location
The hotel stands on Senovážné náměstí in the New Town, right on the edge of the Old Town: the Municipal House and the Powder Tower are about 0.4 km away, Wenceslas Square 0.5 km, Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock 0.8 km, Charles Bridge 1.5 km and Prague Castle 2.2 km. The hotel arranges transfers from Prague airport and a limousine service; drivers will find valet and self-parking with electric-vehicle charging.
Spa
Femme Spa Next Level sits on the lower ground floor beside the gym and is open daily, with a Finnish sauna, a steam bath and treatment rooms offering technology-led beauty and skin treatments alongside relaxing rituals.
Sports & leisure
The gym on level −1 is open around the clock, equipped with Technogym machines and free weights, and the Wintergarden Equilibrium Suite has its own workout area. The Old Town’s main sights, museums, the State Opera and the theatres are all within walking distance. For meetings and private events there are three Andaz Studios, which combine into a single 150 m² space, and the two light-filled Collegium halls.
Restaurants & bars
ZEM is an avant-garde Czech bistro that sets the look of Prague’s old coffee houses against the retro-futuristic Czech art and engineering of the 1920s; Czech produce with subtle Japanese touches is cooked over charcoal and steam on an open kitchen stage, and breakfast brings Czech and international dishes. MEZ — named after the field boundary where farmers rested after a day’s work — mixes balanced cocktails with local ingredients, inspired by Bohemian myth. In-room dining runs around the clock.
Pets
Dogs are welcome, with a dedicated VID (Very Important Dog) service; service dogs stay free of charge. In public areas, the restaurant and the bar dogs must be kept on a lead and supervised, and pets may not be left alone in the room.
